That may be years down the road if ever. Even budget GPUs like a 4 years old GTX 1650 is going for 400 bucks or more locally nowadays.

2 -3 years ago I sold my 980Ti at $2xx and rebuild a rig with 1660Ti ($3xx) and later also sold the whole rig away.

Last year when I started finding parts to build my new rig, I started to wonder why used carousell 980Ti price is listed higher than what I sold and shocked to find 1660Ti can go as high as $7xx to 9xx..........
Ended I build one with iGPU cos the markup is too high and I don't game...

That is true. I remember buying a GTX 1660 Super at 270 bucks. Now that same GPU is selling for 800 bucks. Haha.

Not worth for money, RTX 3060 or RX 6600 XT or get entry-level RX 6500 XT just $199 USD only
What do you think?
stay away from the entry level amd cards. moving forward, the lack of av1 decoding on 6500 xt is a lot bigger deal than most people think

AMD made their budget card as budget as it gets. So much so that it is not fit for any purpose. For gaming, not quite there because of the ultra gimped specs. For miners, not really because of the lack of VRAM. For HTPC, nope as well because lack of decoder. So they managed to create the worst GPU in recent history.

there are many people who are on processors like 4600g or 5600g without any gfx and are waiting for gfx prices to come down to regular price levels
such a card represents a good 300% boost to their igpus

also if this card can really come to market at msrp which should mean around $300, it might be able to push lower tier or older gfx prices down as well

a 1070 is going for $500 in carousel at the moment, 2070 is 1k and prices are such because of demand
if the demand can be tapered slightly, perhaps these older cards can go for lower prices as well

I don't know if I've mentioned it here earlier, but if the card appears at MSRP, then no harm getting it to use for the time being. We will know if that is the case very soon. There are already some rumours of it appearing at 299 EUR. If that is the case, people who want a dedicated GPU might as well consider getting a GTX 1650 that I can find on Amazon for around 300 SGD and local stores @ 399 SGD before any discount. It is slower for sure, but you pay less for it.
And as you mentioned, the likes of Nvidia and AMD knows the situation well. So much so that whatever "gaming" card they produce, they expect it to sell like hot cakes. I am not against AMD because I use their RX 6800 as well, but this card is of exceptional bad value the moment it exceeds its MSRP. If a used GTX 1070 is going for 500 bucks, you can be sure that it will walk all over the RX 6500 XT, particularly when you try and bump the resolution or graphic settings higher.

idk this feels extremely optimistic, not to mention that people running those Ryzen 4000g/5000g CPUs (or anything on intel pre-11th gen) are still on pcie3.0. Gotta wait for benchmarks to see if pcie3.0x4 lanes will hamper the performance of the 6500xt.

Objectively, if one is running the card on a PCI-E 4.0 bus, then the performance is quite alright, though unimpressive as it is not much faster than a RX 5500 XT. But this card is supposed to target budget gamers and gaming rigs which I feel mostly at this point, are still running PCIE 3.0. And this is where the outrageous decision to cut the bus to x4 is hitting performance really hard. Most reviews out there test the cards using PCI-E 4.0 which does not show the crux of the problem. Anyway, I can find this card at below 400 SGD on Lazada. Prices are not good as it is still quite a premium we are paying if we consider that the USD conversion rate is less than 1.4.

its an okay card if one is a new build for budget gamer or gamers who upgraded their much older gpu like 600 or 700 series? not worth for used build that is using gtx 900 series or 1000 series. or amd rx 400 and 500 seres. unless your gpu spoil den maybe can consider.
