wait til you see Japanese tech journalist review 5090 with 14900K running DDR5 5600C40 LOL

I was wondering why FF14 bench had same scores for 1440p and 1080p

wtf they doing man :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:

i would say even stock 9800X3D is not bringing out the best of the 5090, need to some overclock on the 9800X3D when playing high refresh rate.

5080 become 5000series best card while waiting for next gen ady.
IMO, 5070 Ti more worth it - won't run out of VRAM for its level of performance for quite some time. Can't say the same for the 5080 though ... 😜

I think most people get 5080 or 5090, because i don't expect much improvements in power efficiency.

Basically 5070 TI will be performing like a 4080 super i guess?

Yup. I'd expect 5070 performs like 4070 Super raster while 5080 is just a tad behind 4090.
I'm gonna get a R5 5600 or 7600 to pair with my 1070 FE or 5070 (when the 1070 dies) while waiting for Zen6/NovaLake + 6090 in 2 years' time.
5090 barely running top AAA games (e.g. Avatar Unobtanium) at 1440p60 max settings native is pathetic!

4080 super 52 teraflops FP32
5080 56 teraflops FP32

Like might as well buy 4080 super on discount (if available) if dont care about MFG.

5090 doesn't seem of an upgrade from 4090. I remembered the actual gains (Not DLSS4 or fake frames 5hit) was much more going from 3090 to 4090.

Sure it's the fastest card but it's not going to materially change your experience if you're already having a 4090 for example based on reviews so far. Also seems 5090 is back to 3090 thermals and power consumption seems definitely higher for that added improvement.

ya 30 series to 40 series gain was massive because they moved from a Samsung node to the latest TSMC node at the time. The issue now is 50 series is on the same node as 40 series and TSMC is charging arm and leg for their latest nodes

Yup no manufacturing process bonus and 3nm also expensive to adopt

actually, nvidia did not increase prices except for 5090 despite increased TSMC costs.
They actually kept them the same or reduced the USA prices.

The 3000 series was on a samsung node. Hence, why many people stayed away from buying a RTX 3000 because they know samsung nodes are inferior to TSMC (but cheaper).

my interest is on how they will respond to undervolting. My 4080 at 0.935V@2610Mhz generally runs at 170-210W when gaming, which is around 80W below stock, so would be interesting to see how they much effiency they can achieve with undervolting
