Can see alphacool tried to smoke users in their forums 😸

i think your v4 back plate also include extra thermal pad to cover all 4 sides of memory

This was right
"Does not cover the 2 mosfet at the leftmost and rightmost side near the terminal area. The new PNY block has the coverage, it seems to be same as reference but better/refined with full vrm coverage and additional 2 thermal pad for back bottom memory. When will Alphacool change this for reference?"

Non related. But did anyone brought Wuchang and hyping for battlefield 6 trailer on Friday? 😂.
Waiting for review to drop today then see if I get now for Wuchang. Not big on Battlefield although I own all the games never played more than a week after release.

not a good start but then again 99% of these games media are biased and can't finish the first level, will wait for some souls youtuber to give proper review

Fittings arrived yesterday so of course I proceeded to waterblock the 5090.

The warranty sticker came off so easy, I thought I either needed to use hairdryer or IPP, but nope it just wasn't fully stuck to the screw.

GB202 in its full glory, also can't seem to fully clean off the residue on the GDDR7 memory modules

Honeywell PTM7950, I bought 80x40 pads and just cut them to make it fit the die completely.

Alphacool block looks good enough

Fully assembled, its much heavier than the stock cooler, I still use the GPU anti sag just incase.

Direct comparison with my old RTX5080 Zotac running 3.3GHz at roughly 425w (450w vbios)

More efficient than RTX4090 and RTX5080 at the same power consumption.

Currently have it undervolted to 1020mv until my clamp arrives so I can make sure the cables are running fine then I'll increase the voltages a bit more.

dont forget to check the waterblock screws after a few days use, i find can still hand tighten 1/3 to half a turn. because the thermal pad/putty need some break-in to conform shape

next time, i plan use hair dryer and heat up assembled block, and further tighten the mounting screws before put in pc.

More efficient than RTX4090 and RTX5080 at the same power consumption.

impressive ~50% better than both, at the same 425w.

I think nvidia stock curve is too crude, can lose performance even!

Here is my setup, i find cannot use a single point offset, need to set few points to catch the v/f transitions, if not, the stock curve causes the gpu to jump down too many freq notches :o

nvidia still has 80% market share I don't think they're worried at all to be having an immediate price cut, all of this lines up with the steam hardware survey
