No local servers in this region but then again all their boxes here are imported via third parties. I heard they do have some servers here and Japan for testing but no way to force their use.

If they don’t up their game people will end up subscribing to alternatives like Google Stadia.

Is it worth upgrading to the 2019 model if you have the 2017 model or is it only worth buying the new remote control?

don't bother.. use steam link and connect back locally to ur PC.

Geforce NOW is not available in our region, i have tested even connect back to the nearest country which is south korea and the latency is around 100ms.. not very comfortable to play, infact more frustration.

Sorry can I ask 1 more noob question, do i need to have the same account logged onto shield for the cast to work?

if you have install viu on shield, uninstall it now.

you don't have to install anything on shield for chromecasting. no such thing as account if you are doing chromecast.

hopefully you know what is chromecast, and how to do it :)

Because when I use youku and cast from phone, I need it both on my phone and shield. That's why wanted to confirm before subscribing to viu premium. Sorry for being noob.

How much was it originally?

I wanted to buy the shield tv pro 2019 edition.

Amazon.com has really high prices (460S$ and up) with resellers marking it up.

Amazon.sg lists the item as currently unavailable.

Shopee has a local seller who accepts pre-order (eta 2 weeks he said) for 399S$ https://shopee.sg/-Ready-Stock-NVID...th-AndroidTV-ChromeCast-i.60239193.3924547870

Carousell has three BNIB sellers. Their prices are 300 (seems to be an old listing and the seller is unresponsive), 369 and 430 respectively.

So, what was the original price you guys paid? 200USD comes to ~280SGD currently.

there are many scammers in carousell, and you can only scratch balls if you are scammed.

for carousell, opt to COD to avoid scams

COD is preferred mode of payment for scammers. :s13:

he can just deny receiving your money.

For online purchase, it is safer to go for platform with escrow account, e.g lazada, aliexpress. you can claim back your money from the platform or credit company when something goes wrong.

I kinda beg to differ.
My 2017 set still works like a beast. Minus the remote haha.
I got myself a 2.4ghz remote and never really used the og remote again.

I mostly uses plex and netflix and youtube only. And the ocassional geforce gaming.

tempted to upgrade to the nVidia Shield Pro 2019 - the AI upscaler...
Amazon US had it for US$199.90 but doesn't ship directly to Singapore :/
