If I have the OCBC Great Eastern Cashflo MasterCard and use it to split pay my annual premium to 12 monthly payments (7.2K = $600 per month x 12)

1) Will this consider as the OCBC credit card spending?

2) Does the Cashflo credit card allow me to pay premiums for the next few years until I complete payment to Great Eastern?

"Get 1% p.a. for spending at least S$400 across your OCBC Credit Cards."

"If you have Cashflo or Installment Payment Plan purchases, only the monthly installment amount will qualify."

3) Base on the quoted criterias from OCBC, do I qualify for additional 1% interest?

Please help to answer my three questions. Thank you!

OCBC, I have an "INTEREST CREDIT" of $4.03 on 1st July into my 360 account. Can enlighten me where is likely to be from? I should be getting interest only from OCBC 360 right? And since I credit my salary starting from May, spent >$500 on Frank, and also paid 3 bills, interest should be exceeding $100. This $4.03 is from where one?

You have almost 100k in your 360 acc! *salute*

But only the first 50k attracts the 3% bonus, which will be credited on the 7th working day each month. The remaining 50k is working as hard as it would be in POSB/DBS :)

You should be contacting OCBC directly from the internet banking site instead of posting it in the forums for all to see. OCBC also don't know your name or account number here, how to check for you?

Bro, 1st July one is the base rate for OCBC360, means 0.05%. They will credit the remaining 3% at the 7th working day. Have been receiving it that way for the last 2 months.

if i have 100k savings, i would not put it into ocbc 360.

i would put 50k in 360, 25k in bonussaver, 25k oscilate between esaver and star saver

Regarding the $400 credit card spending, how do they determine the $400 has been accumulated with regards to the spending date?

is it from say, 01 Jul - 31 Jul to get the 1% interest?

or they see the billing cycle of the credit card? eg 11 Jul - 10 Aug?

Its by calendar month, not billing cycle.

Also, its by posting date, not transaction date. Lets says you spend $50 on 31st Jul (transaction date ) and the merchant post it only on 2nd Aug (posting date ) , then it will only be counted for Aug calendar cycle.

So make sure you spend more than $400 by 25th / 26th of the month.

Hi OCBC,

Hi Investor_Warrior88,

Firstly, you may wish to confirm if NUS accepts online payment for their tuition fee. The determination of an online transaction is based on system indicator. These indicators are decided by the merchant and their banker and passed to the Bank when the transaction is posted to the card.

These transactions are excluded from the calculation of cash rebates:
Purchases made via telephone or mail order; bill payments (online mobile bill payment to Singtel, Starhub and M1 are eligible); recurring payments for mobile, telephone, cable, insurance, utility bills or income tax; donations; payment of funds to prepaid accounts, payments using internet banking; annual card fees; Instalment Payment Plans; Cashwise facility, Cash Advances and Balance Transfers; Goods and Services tax; fees and charges such as interest and late payment charges or any other transactions determined by OCBC from time to time.

Hope this helps!

Hi marcoyeo,

Hope these answers are of some help!

1)If you split the premiums into 12 months instalment, only the monthly instalment will qualify for the 360 Account Credit Card Spend Bonus interest.

2) The OCBC Great Eastern Cashflo Credit Card allows interest free instalments payable monthly over a period of 3, 6 or 12 months only. You may refer to the following link for more information: Great Eastern Cashflo MasterCard | Credit Card Application | OCBC

3) As long as your monthly instalment amount is above S$400, it will qualify for the Credit Card Spend Bonus Interest. However, any transaction i) on credit cards that are terminated at any time and ii) that is subsequently cancelled, reversed or made void, will not qualify.
