You are Mikedirnt with a name change! Careful bro — teaching others to set up shell companies just to trigger bank salary credit promos is risky.

MAS and banks expect “salary crediting” to reflect genuine employment income or actual business activity. Faking this (e.g. via dormant companies or false payroll) could fall under misrepresentation or fraud.

If banks audit or flag the source of salary credits, accounts could be frozen or closed. Worse if someone uses fake docs — that's straight-up criminal liability.

Optimising is one thing, but teaching people to bend the rules like this is bad advice. Play smart, not shady.

I leave it to Admin to moderate!
Which part of my statement is telling others to setup fake company and pay fake salaries ?

Its legit to setup own company and pay ownself salaries.

You can also do schedule funds transfer also.

This splitting of salaries in SG is for the purpose of taking advantage of banks promos.

Maybe better to setup your own company and pay ownself salaries.

Can split into 10 banks also.

Mikedirnt, The issue isn’t whether it's legal to set up your own company and pay yourself a salary — that’s perfectly legitimate if there's actual business activity.

The problem is your comment makes it sound like you're suggesting people set up a company just to simulate salary credit across multiple banks to earn bonus interest.

To someone who doesn’t understand the legal or financial implications, that can easily be misread as a method to game the system — essentially setting up a shell company with no real business, just to move money around.

That kind of activity can violate bank terms, trigger compliance flags, or even be seen as misrepresentation. So whether that was your intention or not, it’s easy for others to take it the wrong way.

While I don’t disagree with your point, but at the end of the day if some people want to take what’s said online as gospel truth and not do their own DD, if they get into trouble, they deserve it?

Any recommendation for which Unit Trusts to buy in order to get the Invest bonus interest?

My intention is just to buy a UT to hold it for less than a month just to qualified for the extra invest bonus interest and sell of the UT.

May I check how do we check if the UT online purchase is counted for the invest category? Is there anyway to know beside waiting for the next month interest?
I am worried later buy then realize it is not counted.
