Pay other bank CC bill using OCBC credit card to get the 360 1% bonus interest

Hi OCBC,

If I pay other bank credit card bill (around $2000) using OCBC credit card, will this be eligible for the 360 1% bonus rate? Is there any fee charged?

Rgds,

You won't be able to pay other bank CC using OCBC CC. Try it and see.

peeps, if lets say I have $7800 ready to put in Ocbc 360 account, by fulfilling 2.05% interest (base rate 0.05% + credit salary 1% + pay any 3 bills 1%), interest rate will be received end of the month as follows

Balance Comm/month Personal Saving Marriage
Aug $7,800 $13.33 $400 $400
Sep $8,613.33 $14.71 $400 $400
Oct $9,428.04 $16.11 $400 $400
Nov $10,244.15 $17.50 $400 $400
Dec $11,061.65 $18.90 $400 $400

Is this correct?

Hi!

Your calculation is fairly accurate. We will calculate your interest based on the end day balance, everyday. Your savings goals are part of that account balance as well

So if your balance remains stagnant througout the whole month, then it's just a matter of multiplying the interest by your balance for the whole month

I read that service fee for 360 Account is waived on first year. May I know how much is the service fee applied on second year onwards?

IF its $1K min. .. then ho seh liao! I go open account immediately le...

Its $3k.. so I hesitated.... cash flow is very important for the average person...

if only 3k, then interest is only $7.50 per month. but you have to put in so much effort. is it still worth it?

Open first, prepare everything, and aim towards $50k and the max interest will be $127/mth.
But then again, some people will ask: "Is it worth to put in so much effort for ONLY $127/mth?"

You know the maths. Now do the sums.

if you come to me and say you have not eaten for a few days, i dont mind paying 7.50 for you to eat in a food court

if you come to me and say you and your partner, have not eaten at the hotel for a long long time. i will never pay 127 for you to eat there.

just that $7.50 is very little. 127 is quite substantial.

I dunno about you. But the "so much efforts" only involved the following for me:

1. submit letter to HR to change bank account. 1 time only. Done. extra 1% which is already higher than most of other banks in Singapore

2. set reminder for yourself. 1 time per month. go internet banking, pay 3 different bill (even $1 for each bill can do). Done. 5 minutes only every month. Extra 1%. Total 2.05%. Very good already.

With the above 2, you get 2.05% which is about $5 per month if average balance $3000.

It is the 3rd condition which is more troublesome. But not much more troublesome than using other credit cards imo.

Different levels of efforts bah.
