No way to get the salary crediting bonus interest if your company don't credit salary. Can see if you have any other bank account that give you higher interest given no salary credit bonus interest on ocbc 360.

Withdraw everything out less minimum deposite 3000 to avoid paying fall below fee. Place in CIMB Fastsaver to earn 1%. Next month starting 1 October, put your 60K back to earn the 1% incremental interest on top of your other bonus interest in 360 account.

The cutoff for your new company is so early of the month?!

Now is only 1/3 of the month gone.

Hello OCBC!

I just want to ask if there is a way to check online if the GIRO application has been successful? I already applied and got an SMS that says payment will be made via GIRO (OCBC txt). Is that enough?

Because I need to cancel the GIRO arrangement in my previous bank.

GIRO arrangement with your previous bank should have been transferred to OCBC once the GIRO is successful. No need to cancel GIRO arrangement with previous bank.

Hi bitwise,

We could help to check on your account to ensure that the GIRO application is successful.

If you would like for us to do that, do drop us a PM with your contact details. Our service executive will call and assist.

Hi compro_1975,

Should you wish to find out on your balance, you could call our hotline at 1800 363 3333.

Here is the formula and an example of the calculation if there are five days in a month:

Total of daily balances in the month
*divide by*
Total number of days in the month

Day Balance

1 $ 3,000
2 $ 3,000
3 $ 3,000
4 $ 600
5 $ 3,200

Total $ 12,800

Average Balance : $12,800 / 5 = $2,560

Hope this clarifies.

The Maybank SaveUp is comparable. Personally I still prefer he OCBC360 for its ease of use, availability of ATMs and the OCBC365 card benefits.

By the way the interest amount is based on the balance we have on the beginning or the end of the month?

For example I have $X in my account on 1st Sep and $Y on 30 Sep so my monthly interests that I will receives on October is based on my balance on 1st Sep or 30 Sep?

Thanks for your information.

Sorry for another question, if let's say I only opened my account on the middle of August, will I still qualify for the incremental account balance for September?

Yes. 1% p.a. bonus intetest for the difference between aug and sep average daily balance. Aug average daily balance is the average of daily balance in Aug since you open the account.
