bonus saver also gave 1.88 for a long long time already. it was significantly higher than quite a lot of savings and fd during its time. why 3.05 cannot last a long time?

Why care so much??? Earn that 3.05% while it last. When the rates drop, move the funds elsewhere.

Hi there!

It'll have to be credited in via GIRO I'm afraid. And your HR will need to input the GIRO description as a GIRO-Salary. Otherwise we won't be able to tell if the funds are coming in as a form of salary.

Does the employer need to have a ocbc account to do the giro to my ocbc 360 account in order to be able to state as GIRO-SALARY? Can you provide a guide on setting up the giro process to reflect GIRO-SALARY? My employer has a scb account instead and the last salary credit in june statement reflected as GIRO-IBG (with description as STS SAL + company name) and in this case I am not entitled to the bonus 1%.

On a side note, wouldn't those who recently went for ocbc 1-yr fixed deposit promo of 1.1% cash out and put into this account instead ?!
No lock-in + higher interest ! (provided u fulfill the bonus requirement)

did anyone actually terminate their 1.1% fixed deposit and move to this account instead? i'm wondering if ocbc would give prorated interest on the 1.1% or just the basic super low interest?

I don't think any bank will give you pro-rated interest else who will go for FD with shorter maturity?

not sure if anyone ask this.

But if i use 360 account and use the " Pay your OCBC/Plus! credit card bill" to pay my ocbc credit card, does that contribute to the 3 bill payments ?

They will give you the board rate for the pro rated period.

if you do that and ocbc 360 reduce the rate next month, you can really start to suck your thumb.

Must have GIRO -SALARY to qualify for 1% Interest

Doesn't look so Simple.

I check with the bank and may not qualify for the 1% interest for Salary crediting because my Company does not use OCBC bank as the principal bank for Salary Crediting. The transaction code reflected is only GIR and not GIRO-SALARY. Doubt I will earn this 1%.

FYI, POSB also need your transaction code for salary crediting transaction code to be SAL or PAY before you qualify.

Thank you for your reply.

If my Great Eastern policy is an existing one and I switch to monthly premiums using Great Eastern Cashflo credit card, is it possible to enjoy the 1% rebates on my OCBC 360 account?

Hi marcoyeo,

The card spend or IPP amount has to be charged to any credit cards issued by OCBC Bank. Since the GE Cashflo card is issued by us, then definitely yes. The IPP amount will be eligible as part of the $400 spend.

Hope this helps!
