Hi OCBC

I made several transactions on Ezbuy (fna 65daigou) on this card. This is listed as a qualifying merchant for 10X on the official website:

https://www.ocbc.com/personal-banking/cards/titaniumrewards-mastercard.html

However knowing how uncertain the crediting of points can be, I sent OCBC a PM to confirm that the merchant qualifies for 10X. OCBC arranged for somebody to call me and here is the conversation:

OCBC: sir - your 65daigou transactions do not qualify for 10X.

Me: Why? Isn't this listed as a qualifying merchant?

OCBC: That is Ezbuy not 65daigou?

Me: But they are the same?! 65daigou is the new name.

OCBC: Give me a min to check... after a while.. Ok since they are the same then it qualifies.

Me: This is very worrying? What controls are in place that assure customers that we get our 10X as listed on the website?

OCBC: We go by MCC code. Your merchant is not in the correct MCC code.

Me: So do you mean that I have to call OCBC EVERYTIME I make a transaction with Ezbuy to ensure that the points will be captured correctly? Do you have a process in place to ensure that we get our points?

Could not get an answer to my question above.

OCBC - can you please clarify? Shall stop using this card for transactions on Ezbuy until clarification is provided.

OCBC Bank,

Can you please take this up and get your backend colleagues to close off this loop. I've also, and I'm sure many others, have also transacted with Ezbuy / 65daigou and the 10X should apply. It shouldn't be us doing all the legwork!

Hi all,

Thank you for your feedback.

We like to confirm that eligible transactions (say Electronics) on Ezbuy (formerly known as 65daigou) will be awarded 10X OCBC$.

Transactions made on your Titanium Rewards card are automatically categorised according to the Merchant Category Code (MCC) of the store, and the MCC determines whether the transaction is eligible for additional rewards. Note that MCCs are assigned by payment card organizations (e.g. Visa, MasterCard, American Express), which OCBC Bank has no discretion over.

Please note that the merchant's registered MCC may not always correspond with its nature of business. For example, KrisFlyer Shop is registered as a Duty Free Store (MCC 5309) and Financial Institution (MCC 6012) even though it sells a variety of retail products, including electronics and gadgets and personal care.

Ezbuy does not fall under the eligible MCC, but after review, we have made the decision to grant 10X OCBC$ to transactions made within the eligible categories as seen on our website.

Additional OCBC$ will be credited by the end of the following month (following transaction posted date). If you did not receive the additional OCBC$, do let us know.

EZbuy is explicitly listed on the card website as merchant eligible for 10x points, shouldn't all transaction with EZbuy be eligible for 10x points?

Hi zIpdIsK,

Fave (formerly known as Groupon) transactions will be eligible for 10X OCBC$.

^DG

---------

Update: 29/11

Hi All,

10X OCBC $ is given for transactions made at merchants under the eligible categories and categories.

Fave (formerly Groupon) was previously awarded 10X OCBC$.

We have since done a review on Fave and it appears that the predominant nature of their business does not fall under any of the eligible categories, and will not be given 10X OCBC$ moving forward.

Thank you.

Hi all,

Thank you for your queries.

While it is listed on our website, it would refer to transactions from Qoo10 and EZbuy in the eligible categories, as Qoo10 and EZbuy transactions does not fall under the eligible MCC for 10X OCBC$.

When you make a purchase from Qoo10 and EZbuy in the eligible category we are able to identify and award on our side. If a transaction was made and not awarded correctly, please do drop us a PM so that we can investigate and get back to you.

---

Aside to Rio, Ikea transactions are eligible for 10X OCBC$.
