Find 7 coming yet?
Should be end of June
Find 7 coming yet?
Oppo Find 7a screen yellowing or other problems? | Gizchina.com
OPPO Phone got so much problems meh?
. Just that its not known why they still release it. For the resale value so long there is no demand for it from other countries it will be low for sure. And since they are coming out with Find 7 this model will drop even more as people will go for that for sure if they are Oppo followers. There are many other defects actually.
For this price, I will be expecting more quality checks and assurance from a phone more so from a China phone...but if you read back, many people are very okay with the defects....most just say to move on or use hair dryer method, video looping or some snake oil method to "cure" the defects. For them, whether oppo will exchange the phone is a moot point.
Those methods actually won't cure the defects or improve the situation. Maybe just makes you feel better as you have done something. That is all it does.
So it depends on what you want or what you can tolerate. Money is yours, if it brings you some fun and you deem its worth it, then it will not be an issue. Otherwise look at something else more established. Better resale value also.
One trick I observed manufacturers do is that when their screen bluish tone, they tend to ship with greyish or bluish wall paper and lock screen. Yellowish tint screen will tend to have more yellowish lock screen and wallpaper. A quick and dirty way to visually check is to display pure white, black, red, green and blue. Make sure the display color looks uniform. Also look for any over saturation of those RGB tone if you prefer a more neutral display.
Hope that helps.
Also this is good that Oppo knows about this issue and admit in openly. This already shows that Oppo knows about it and please allow them to have some time to resolve it.
Every product every brand have some issues. It's just a matter on how we allows them to solve it and comes with a good resolution to it.. I bet that they (Oppo) won't want to land themselves in this kind of situation.. right..
Next.. My point on resale value.. if I really want a much better resale value.. I might just get Samsung.. which what my wife is using last time.. But then again they don't enjoy that at all.. compare the built quality Samsung and rzar maxx.. (That again it depends on the market demands) just imagine no one wants and Apple iPhone, and tell me is there any resale value to it.. it is a NO..
I am now waiting for Oppo news on when they will be taking in the Kevlar backplate in to Singapore..![]()
Agree that every brand has it's own issues. Rem the iPhone 4 had that antenna issue and they claimed u were holding it wrong? Even a big company like Apple has issues that should have been caught before launch, at least oppo didn't blame the defect on the user which is good.
Next point on resale. Does Samsung really got better resale? Comparing apples to apples, if u bought the Note 3 at rrp at launch, u would have lost $450 in 7 months. Will the Find 7a fetch only $149 2nd hand in 7 mths?
Why not order the black kevlar one via Taobao? It should be available there right?
They should have know about this defect of the lcd screen during their testing period for sure unless all their engineers are sleeping. Just that its not known why they still release it. Only apple have good resale value hehe. Samsung phones launch too fast already 2-3 months 1 new top end model. Iphone problem still can be bypass using the bumper so its abit better imo.

You have a set right?

Well.. maybe they have been caught off guard.. but I bet if they knows they would not want to release it to the market.. LCD being a electronics or non electronics devices, to each and every piece is "different" Some might have the tint issue, and some might not.. this is not a matter of engineer sleeping or awake.. I am not an engineer myself, but i understand "electronics.." We won't know..
Resale value as I have said, if there are no demands for that is there any value???
See if there is no demand one day.. any resale value or not. Simple. If no one wants a Rolex watch or no one gonna crave for 1.. U see where the resale value is..
Not everyone is comfortable with a bumper. 1 of my colleague demanded a full refund for the iPhone.. zzz
If only afew pcs out of many then its not on purpose as its manufacturing defects. But if almost all of them have problem do you think they wont know. Unless you can tell me they did not bother to do the QC Check after production then I go nothing to say.
I just say my opinion for me resale or no resale value I don't really bother but some people do so they can topup lesser money to get another phone. End of the day its not a lot of money as its a small hobby unlike those richer ppl buy super car to play for afew months then lose afew hundreds k to then go and buy another.
Company as big as HTC also allow purple tint issue on camera of One M7. Sony allows Xperia Z Ultra to have yellowish panel, not at edge, but the whole screen and never being solve till today. I am using it right now and have to bear it whether like it or not..No one can produce zero defect phone for sure. As so for resale value, Sony, HTC is among of the worse. Don't blame the new comer in the market, they are growing and need time to determine resale value...Seriously. My point of view. If you really can't tolerate the yellow tint please give this a miss.
But if happens u have brought it, and u got the yellow tint. Why not just contact Oppo and just ask them what they could do for you? Wouldn't this is so much better instead of ranting and harping on the problems in forums.

Btw.. I am..already enjoying my phone.. to me.. This is just a pure few steps up from my Moto Rzar..![]()

I have been with my moto for nearly 2 years..But wife's Samsung.. 8 months she sold that away.. and she's with HTC now.. feel the built quality when u pick up the phone in the beginning. And choose from there..
My SGD.00002 cents worth of opinion.
Finally to add on. I was deciding between S5, HTC, Z2 and 7a.. in the end I choose the 7a.. couse it's really rare in the market now.. not everyone is using it.. I personally do think that this is good..
I take out my phone. And best part is that I won't get to see in the trains buses which everyone is using for now.. I mean for now..gives me a sense of "rare" limited feel..Also with the white backplate with OPPO branding at the back.. I feel this is very much prestigious at least for now.. But.. still prefer the Kevlar back..
