dunno if accessories for this hp easy to find locally or not. I looked up and down in SG for accessories for my padfone 2 but cannot find. Had to wait till i go Taiwan for a holiday then could get a casing.. haha

as with all uncommon phones from taiwan/china, ebay is your best friend.

good point about ease of finding accessories

can try to find on taobao or tmall also; now quite convenient, as the taobao online system has a few vendors built-in for sending stuff to singapore

but have to do research on reliability of the individual taobao storefronts

i think cos asus phone last time not popular.. not zenfone 5 and zenfone 6 quite alot of places carrying the accessories. guess the awareness slowly coming in.. anyone buy liao? share some pics lehhhh

So the $399 promo price is for people who are willing to take a punt without first knowing the price of the tablet dock. Amusing. If those prices are confirmed I may well buy it from Malaysia... assuming I can find a place that sells it.

I expect the tablet dock will be slightly more expensive than then the 200 SGD from msia.
I am guessing about 250 SGD.

Malaysia is selling it at RM899 for the phone and RM499 for the tablet dock.

Somehow not convinced with the tablet/phone form factor.

Slipping the phone into the cavity daily will result in scratches on both hardware.

My concern is that we will not be able to get a cover or maybe a tempered glass protector for this phone since its going to be slot into the dock. I am not sure whether the screen protector will hinder the phone from being inserted into the dock.

I was thinking, why not just designa pad dock for the current line of Zenfone. That would be nice..

Normal screen protectors shouldn't hinder it. Cases and glass screen protectors probably will. But alixpress sell alot of different glass screen protectors. I guess not everyone will get the tablet.

The phone battery is only 2300 mAh.

I am testing the phone now, so will try to answer some of the questions.

OS is actually pretty decent. comes with 4.4.2. the ZenUI interface looks rather nice. Modern flat design. I like the colour bars. Also you can load other launcher too if you prefer. However, if you want to use it with the tablet, you should stick with the default launcher which is better at switching between the two interfaces.

Battery drain is around 25% for 7 hr usage. Usage pattern is talktime around 10 min, two email account in background with Whatsapp and usual stuff. Slight surfing. No problems getting through a day use. The tablet dock also charges the phone.
