Hello everyone!

Hope you guys can help me out. I want to do some cycling...mainly casual around parks and pavements across the country, not the adventurous 'chiong sua' sort haha.

I own an extremely old and untouched for very long BMX that has become VERY rusty..the entire handlebar is covered in rust and the frame and chain are also pretty badly rusted. I have also left the bike on the floor in my storeroom for years (!) and hence the tyres have been 'pressed'/flattened down on the same spot...

Do you guys think I should try to 'revive' my old bicycle or will I be better off getting a new one? If I'm to get a new one, would I be able to get a decent casual bike for around SGD200-250?

I am sorry. I have the same problem. I have a MTB with rusty chains and rusty cogs. Should I spray WD40 and scrub it away or just buy new one from Lazada? Spare parts cheap now

if i were you i'd get new chain and cassette/freewheel and make sure install quick link on chain before install on bike? once a while i would remove chain and soak in detergent, dry then reapply new coat of chain oil and having a quick link makes this much easier ^^

Hi I just started into cycling. I just bought cycling accessories at a bicycle shop spent 200 SGD on a helmet (Abus model ACA2 urban i-v2 German made, cost 145 SGD) and 2 bicycle lights ( front and back, magic shine brand $28 each). Is it expensive or worth it?

No comments on the helmet since it affects your comfort level but you can get much cheaper lights at lazada for 7 dollars plus (back light) and 10 plus for front light (better quality ones)

Have a daughter now and was hunting for a hybrid bike to cycle her around for leisure/grocery runs. Managed to hoot a 2022 Giant Escape 2, 3x7 for $350. Usable but parts are a bit worn.

Hand itchy to upgrade parts. Went to Tao Bao and decided to do a frankenstein build. The intention was to change to a 1 x 11 so here's what i bought:

SLX Rear Shifter
Cues 51T Crankset
Sun Race Cassette
Deore RD
MT200 Brakes
KMC Chain

All for under $250 bef shipping. I love Taobao.

+ installation should be about +$300 more.

Total cost $900+ for a bike that would cost $1.5k brand new. not bad i would say.

Since kids grow very quickly, it’s more economical to get a used bicycle first to let them try cycling and see if they develop an interest.

Based on the model year, bicycle shops usually clear old stock to make room for new bicycle models.

Although Taobao is a convenient e-commerce platform, be cautious of counterfeit parts, especially chains. They may not last long and can easily snap.

Learning how to replace and repair parts yourself through online resources can save you around $300.

Overall, it depends on your requirements and budget.

If you’re into cycling as a hobby, it’s worth the investment. But if you’re just starting out and exploring, without realizing that cycling can become an expensive hobby, you may end up questioning why you spent so much on it.

On the ground, it becomes an issue whether SPF TP deploys rare precious resources to enforce this rule.

It does not take more than an iota of a functional human brain to know how fragile the human brain is in the event of contact with any hard object that can deliver an impact to break the human scalp.
