I have a question regarding the 5% allocation for 2nd-timers. Assuming application rate is less than for 1 for 1st-timers (95% allocation), will the balance units be made available for 2nd-timers?

Likely exceed 1.0 by last day.

Each couple can only try once for each exercise, they are also waiting and evaluating before striking.

Buy resale better. Some more can buy bigger units. Can have 1room for bed, 1 room for study.
As a single, i'd rather buy a brand new 2rm type 2 at subsidised price with 1 bedroom and 1 multi-purpose room which can be used as a study also instead of buying a resale and let someone earn a small fortune from me. :LOL:

No one seem able to explain what will happen if first timer undersubscribe, will the excess units flow to second timer which is always oversubscribe.

This is what i was thinking also... I dun wan to "waste" my first HDB application on a resale. Since being single only can buy 2rm may as well buy 2rm and profit first from the subsidized HDB price and housing grant. And I think 2rm flat is more suitable for singles and couples than 3rm flat. Feels weird to buy 3rm flat then rent out one room to a few strangers... I rather finish the MOP then rent out the entire 2rm flat if i want rental income. After finish my MOP then consider other options like upgrade to 4rm or rent out whole unit and live overseas.

Ultimately is the extremely near to MRT make the call..in 2033 probably 4rm can sell 900k,5rm 1.2m..all can't wait to get one unit regardless it's more expensive

You have just confirmed our worst nightmare.

Oh well, not easy to earn from govt twice in a lifetime, so I guess it’s fair.

More work for HDB staff administratively. If this is true, I cannot understand their logic of not selling to ready buyers.
