ebay & aliexpress~ search YK762H PCI-E HDMI Video Capture~

hdmi capture card can only record in realtime, no schedule recording which is kinda defect the purpose if u using it as time recorder~

btw, tbs got sell DVB-T2/C card with CI slot, im not sure whether starhub's card works on their CAM module or not~ if it able then you will hv full control~ :s22:

I think Hauppauge also has a HDMI capture card called Colossus rite?

But when using HDMI capture card, do be sure to check first that the HDMI output that u intend to capture from, is not encrypted (HDCP protection to prevent capture).

Problem with HD channels

I recently bought the AVerTV Hybrid Volar T2 (http://avertv.avermedia.com/product/ProductDetail.aspx?Id=582)

I scan the digital tv channels and I have no problem watching CNA.

But when I try to watch the HD channels like Ch 5/8, the picture looks ok (maybe pixellise a bit here and there) but the audio is horribly distorted. It is as if you hear audio playback slow down 10-20x like that.

I am using the stock antenna that came with the box.

I am using the latest driver/software downloaded from their website mentioned above.

What did I miss? :(

Hmm perhaps my past experience with the Hauppauge 292E might help:

Using the supplied antenna placed near window was fine but noticed on days with heavy rain the recording would stutter/blank out for a few seconds so i switched to a DIY antenna and no more issues liao ^^

Thinking of getting the TBS5281 DVB-T2/T/C Dual Tuner TV USB Box.
Is this USB version stable enough to watch 2 Channels same time or the PCIe Dual Tuner version is better?
Another question is the shipping:
Singapore post (US$10.62)- It takes 7-20 business days to receive.
DHL (US$18.25) - It takes 3-5 business days to receive.

Using Singpost is it good enough?
Thanks.

Using PCTV 292e + SichboPVR, I can only get sound on HD5 - all other HD and SD channels have no sound.

Any idea how to fix?

Some people I know get lazy and just record the whole day, then end of day cut into different shows.

Just like your WiFi and 4g
You won't get 100% signal strength unless you are within line of sight of the transmission

But the good thing about digital signal is that you still can receive well enough as long as the strength isn't very low

i see. thanks for your help! I saw the 83% and thought that it will improve further when the east side is "indoor reception ready" in Q4 2015.

Don't know whether want to go ahead getting this TBS5281 DVB-T2/T/C Dual Tuner TV USB Box or not
13896845720.jpg

The 20% discount still ongoing at the moment.
Anyone bought this and your comments pls :D

I am in the process of getting a refund for my TBS5220 USB, which came faulty with intermittent cannot start device errors. Build quality is abysmal - really cheap look and feel all the way from the dongle to the remote to the bundled antenna, and very badly machined cap that needs a gorilla to open. Finally the tech support didn't even bother to read my complaint and kept suggesting nonsensical things.

Bought a PCTV 292e and it's a vast improvement over the a/m issues except tech support coz I didn't encounter any issues.
