hmm, I so far don't see a need to use the red one for extra power eh.

Sian today do some test recording. I realised I can no longer record and watch other channels at the same time.

Not sure why, previously can.
My device is dual tv tunner. The software will give me run out of memory error. My laptop memory or the box memory ?
Some computers' USB ports do not give enough power, that's where u will need the extra power from an extra USB port (for a total of 2 USB ports).

Maybe it's because this device is selling at the various platforms such as eBay, Aliexpress, Taobao, etc so u thought they were different devices. :o

In the feedback, someone mentioned.
"I got this product to work in Singapore which adopts DVB-T2 on my Linux system. So far after 5 days, some of my TV recordings were good but some were very bad."

i would suggest contacting the seller to confirm that this is v1.3.1 DVB-T2 compliant 1st and that (lone?) feedback seems vague and not stonewall reliable IMHO

Are you referring to the T230? If yes, then it does support 1.3.1

Fully Compliant with DVB-T2: EN302 755 (v1.1.1, v1.2.1, v1.3.1)

My T230 working well....

using the provided totalmedia and using DVBviewer to view the channel

Works for others does not mean work for everyone. YMMV...

Hi,

Recently i upgraded my computer and re-used my WinTV-PVR-150 on my new rig which runs on windows 8.1 pro, 64bits.

Using the same TV output wall socket as the old PC, i am able to tune/locate channels using WinTV7 application. However, after finish tuning, all the channels displayed a "No Signal" error when i try to view them.

The TV wall socket should be working as i am using a splitter to connect a TV to the same TV socket as well and the TV channels are showing perfectly on TV.

This is exactly the same configuration that i was using the TV tuner card in my old pc and everything was also ok then.

Any experts here know what could be wrong? Is there an alternative program to WinTV7 that i could use to test my old PCI tuner card?

*Edit: Tried also NextPVR. Did not encounter no signal, but the screen is black with very distorted audio.

Thanks all!

Thanks for all replies. Yes there are drivers for the card for win 8 according from the support personnel from hauppauge. Did not thought that the card is spoilt previously as everything is working fine just before i change computer. Think i should really change to a new card.

May i know if the difference between TBS6221 DVB-T2($59.90usd) and TBS6281 DVB-T2($79.70usd) is just that the latter is able to record 2 channels at the same time? Any other differences? Whats usually the shipping costs for 1 tv tuner card from http://www.buydvb.net?

Any bros using this-->
1)MyGica DVB-T2 Mini USB TV Stick T230 Digital TV Tuner TV Receiver, selling $59.90 at q100.
OR
2) PCTV tripleStick HD 292e TV Tuner selling at $99 from cybermind

Would you suggest getting USB or on board tv tuners?

THanks again.

A single tuner can tune to single frequency. U can record any or all of the channels on a single frequency.

A dual tuner can tune to two frequencies. U can record any or all of the channels on the two frequencies.

For postage, it's about USD 8++ if I'm not wrong, but u can try to add one quantity and check out what's the postage rate there, without having to confirm order first, so please try it out. :o

IMHO in the interest of all planning to hoot DVB-T2 tuners for PC maybe those who bought the various tuners can share

#1 Did they use the provided PVR software only or
#2 Try out other like WMCE, NPVR, etc
#3 Was a remote supplied and if so was it programmable i.e able to launch other applications/software
#4 What sort of antenna u used, which estate, position (indoors or near window)

Short review PCTV 292E
http://forums.hardwarezone.com.sg/h...-hauppauge-292e-dvb-t2-usb-tuner-4938441.html

USB vs PCI-e is tricky but if u are intending to use for multiple devices obvious choice would be USB cos transferable and also if thinking SFF/mITX HTPC with DVR function the PCI-e slot may be a luxury so =:p That said PCI-e type may have multi tuner function, and video capture feature so depends on needs also...

Any bro using avermedia nova T2? Saw this on cybermind pricelist and it costs only $90 for an onboard card which seems to be cheap (cost of TBS6281 plus shipping is also around $90sgd).
