Can u check either on the package box or the device whether it is DVB-T2 lite or without the lite?

Anyway, regardless of the DVB-T2 lite thing, the DVB-C should be able to work. What program are u using? Perhaps try the program TBSViewer first? For me personally I use their TBS drivers and use NextPVR to tune/record the channels.

Whats good about NextPVR? Im using SichboPVR as mention by some one here as I kinda like the interface.

Anway they asked me to ship back and they will change the chipset for me.
How much will the postage be roughly ?

dun need ship back so urgently lor~
got long weekend, maybe u can play with it more~

for troubleshooting, suggest u use simpler software like the free tbsviewer, dvbdream, progdvb instead of SichboPVR~
http://www.tbsdtv.com/download/

if needed, the tbs tech support can remote control ur pc to help u find ur problems~

but make sure u r not having signal issue~
if using the bundled mini antenna, maybe can try to get a better antenna~

and since u r using laptop, easier for u to move around too, or go outside~
think the tbs5281 can be used without the power adapter~

since u last time installed both T2 and C drivers and then uninstalled C drivers, maybe u can try to clear all T2 drivers too~
reboot, then install using the update drivers(browse to ur unzipped T2 1.0.0.1 folder) via device manager, instead of using the tbs setup installer~
hope can eliminate driver issue~

actually u can do more with DVB-C but minus the portability advantage

if not wrong, only the TBS PCIe cards and boxes got the DVB-T2 Lite wordings

I think LxIxVxE is right. Only the PCIe cards are DVB-T2/T2 Lite/T stated under Specifications. USB version only stated as DVB-T2/T. Don't think they can simply change the chipset, if can then let me know as I am also using TBS 5281.

As for getting all local channels using DVB-C from Starhub cable point, I was able to get them including those Starhub paid channels but of course those channels cannot be viewed :D

When doing channel scan, refer to this table especially the bottom part on 6875 Ks/s QAM/256 which is for DVB-C. Can cut down the time for scanning all other not related frequencies ;)

TBS USB T2 tuners support V1.3.1/Lite too, just saying the USB ones dun have the DVB-T2 Lite wordings on the tuner and box~

so the updated revision may just look the same as those not updated ones~

if not wrong, TBS already completed updating their whole range of DVB-T2 tuners(except EOL products) to support V1.3.1 since last year, maybe 1 year ago~

maybe u can ask TBS to check the serial number of ur tuner, see it is the new or old revision~

by right, getting from them(buydvb) now should be the new revision, not sure why urs cannot receive T2 channels, unless u got it from elsewhere such as ebay, etc

if urs is the new revision, u can request them to remote control ur pc, see why u cannot get the T2 channels if u sure it is not signal issue~

if old ones, can just send it back to exchange~

Guys,

Currently using my TBS 5220 for TVB-T2, so ..

For DVB-C settings, you can try http://forums.hardwarezone.com.sg/82021279-post296.html

Not sure if info still correct. Perhaps someone can try and verify. :s8:

This info probably a bit outdated also. :s11:

ok, here's the interim update~ :s22:

On my Hauppauge PCTV 292e no need to rescan the Okto and CNA HD - they were picked up next time i viewed Live TV. This was using NPVR backend, XBMC frontend

So MPC-HC is working on my 292e. The UI is not the nicest, but it's light and open source!

hmm, like what can I do more with DVB-C ?

I just ran 20m of cable from living room into my room.
I need to record some videos during the June Holidays and then I will sent it back for replacing of chipset after that.

Im still using sichboPVR as is pretty easy to use actually.

Got a question. This TBS5281 has 2 usb connections. One black one red.
The black one seems like the connection to the PC.
What about the red one ?

This one is about SGD$50 liao. EBay selling about SGD$61.

But seriously, I don't mind getting the Hauppauge 292E at about SGD$100. Confirm can work and got warranty.

Red one is for added power to the device if it needs it. For example, u can plug into 2 usb ports for the added power. This is like the cable for 2.5" harddisk too.

Using PCTV 292e + SichboPVR, I can only get sound on HD5 - all other HD and SD channels have no sound.

Any idea how to fix?

Same problem with TBS5220 in DVB-T2 mode. Only HD5 got sound. Have installed LAV filters and enabled in SichboPVR config.
Any idea how to fix? :o

TBSViewer have audio and video. The EPG guide is however off. :-(

hmm, I so far don't see a need to use the red one for extra power eh.

Sian today do some test recording. I realised I can no longer record and watch other channels at the same time.

Not sure why, previously can.
My device is dual tv tunner. The software will give me run out of memory error. My laptop memory or the box memory ?
