iPhone 6 out in Sept or Oct 2014?

Tempted to switch back mainly due to 5.5 inch. Do miss the apple features though and apps. Just that no flash unable to stream videos online.

The sapphire display panel of the iPhone 6 is put through another series of deformation tests. In this new video, the display is hammered, chiselled, bent using pliers, scratched using a penknife, burned using a lighter and dropped from a significant height – all of which failed to produce a single scratch.

It was only after a car – weighing approximately 1.6 tons – ran over the panel did it eventually shatter.

Nope don't trust Sapphire glass... It's not as durable and scratch proof as advertised de... That video Gorilla Glass 2 or 3 can do that already lol

Example are watches, they still do scratch easily if you knock it against other surface. Maybe it won't shatter as easily as Gorilla Glass but scratch resistance...

What brand is your watch that use sapphire glass yet will have scratch?

Impossible for sapphire glass to scratch. Even if glass hit glass, sapphire glass also won't crack. That is how strong.

Nothing is impossible in this world, everything needs to have the first case to prove it's possible, so we will not be so sure until it's released commercially.

I doubt Apple will use the highest end sapphire if there's category between them, don't vs profit still the priority.

And also, the body of the iPhone are not Sapphire glass lol, 1 drop it knock = dent = gg, value dropped. The glass can be replaced but not the unibody

There is a apple patent of fusing glass in between 2 layers of sapphire glass. The sapphire gives increase anti-scratch benefit. So i dont think its plain sapphire.

Everything have to wait for actual release, sometimes prototype might be better than released, much due to cost to mass produce. And like I mentioned, apart from the bending etc shown in the Video, Gorilla Glass 2/3 already survived Knife, Keys, Mallets, Hammer resistance, just not to Dust and Sand.

Surprised surprise now they are saying 5.5" iPhone will be delayed. Reminds me of how the white iPhone 5 was delayed.

Seems to be a trend for Apple. Announce a tentative release date then later announce this screw up, that screw up and then delayed.

Wait a sec, did Apple even announce any new iPhones yet? No, I think not.
