Can add me to the list also... I pay mine and my dads electrical & utilities, town council and phone & Internet bill plus my and my gf insurance all total less than $700. I eat hawker and take BMW everyday.

My view is this: if I could survive on $480 NS allowance 4 years ago, why I couldn't do the same now? Granted I am paying for my dads and gf share now, but on my part, nothing changed.

Few months ago thought of buying a brand new motorcycle when I got my current job. Then I think to myself, money is better off for investment!!

I see all give parents allowance not alot ah.. I got to give more cos parents not working :( bills and utility (~$325), insurance(~$160) and allowance ($700) alr $1000+. That's only for family. My own expenditure depends on my full time, part-time jobs and dividends, plus now I'm still a student, jin sad. I think it is important to have a good family to start with, if not very tough.

Although it is tough, I find that you learn more when you go through hardship first.

This forum has very high standards. I dare not think what I spend....

Hahaha 1k seems to be the magic number here.
Unfortunately my 1k spending is not inclusive of parents allowance, tax and insurance, and the (occasional) holiday.

Just pure living expense for myself, food, transport, utilities.
Guess I am the spendthrift in SSI. :D

If include the odd stuff here and there, sure over 1k... Buying a phone already ensures that, so does going overseas.

I'm an orphan who got ditched by his older siblings and living in a rented room. I'm literally on my own.

yep I meant those who only spend $250-$300 on food per month probably only drinks plain water for meals most of the time or drink free pantry coffee

Yes. Free coffee in pantry is the best. But I am very fortunate cause my mother will cook extra the night before so I can pack for lunch the next day. I spend less than 200 a month on food. And my gf will take turn to pay if we head out for meals.
