Hi all,

Recently had a Control4 system installed in my place. Really revolutionised our lifestyle and everything from Climate Control to Blinds and Lights can now be controlled via Ipad or Iphone.

Anyone got questions can ask here

If you go with high end brands, you can't program yourself. Dealer will do everything.

Additionally dealer dont even need to be on-site, can test and resolve issues remotely.

Go for brands like Control4, Crestron and AMX but expect to pay around 10k-20k or more depending on how big your house is and how elaborate your system is.

Thats why i dont go with crestron. Additionally, the way u control is also very important.

For example IR control has no feedback. Meaning if u click on it transmit on but the system cant tell if its already on.

Whereas for IP control, zigbee or zwave u can

can share what are the use cases of home automation in your home?

Scenes. Eg wake up in morning blinds will come down to block the sun. Lights can come on gradually. A/c can turn off. Radio will switch to your preferred channel

Or goodnight Scene

Following a short delay, all devices and lights will turn off

the blinds come down based on light sensor or it connects to internet to check your area's sunrise time? :o

For mine its timing but light sensor is no issue too. Can add on for $100-200. Theres also a light sensor that adjusts blinds position according to light direction and intensity.

If u live in a 24/7 aircon house, the thermostat can use this change in blinds to help maintain comfortable house temp

so there is some sensor that sense for sunlight and bring down blind automatically? how does it know how much sunlight is too bright or is the right amount of brightness that you dont like?

how does it decide how dark then it turn on light by how much?

how does it decide when there is someone in the room and when to turn on and off by itself?

how does it decide when you are in the house and turn on the radio to the right channel for you?

Can it sense for rain and close the window and sliding door at the balcony for you?
