If getting smart curtain from taobao, i.e. Aqara brand, do we need to worry about region lock to PRC or verify if it's international/global version?

Or smart curtain from taobao would work as long as our aqara hub / smart switch is international version connected to Other server?

If I'm choosing wifi version of smart curtain, without hub, how do I 'open/close' curtain by using wall switch?

I'm considering using wifi yeelight for all my lighting and using their wall flex switches to control the lightings without hub. Can I use this flex switch to 'open/close' curtain too?

If I wish to have a wall switch to control smart curtain, definitely need to have a hub?

I'm thinking of controlling smart devices via wifi instead of hub. Would going 'hub-less" a feasible approach to smart home if I don't need sensor/automation and only need to control via phone and voice? I'm kinda afraid of hub since brand might be introducing new version of hub, and might make old hub obsolete. For example there are M2 which is newer than M1S etc. When old hub become obsolete, then eventually we will need to replace all our old smart wall switches since old switch might no longer be compatible with newer hub model. Is my concern valid?

Yes. it depends on your current ecosystem.

Via an app.

yes as long it supports it.

Hi there,
Any advice from people who dabbles with HomeBridge (for Homekit integration) whether it is a stable platform. Just played with it over the last weekend - seems to open up alot of possibilities - but its very "hacky". Not sure it if is stable in the long run. Because of the amount of work required - not sure if smarthings or home assistance is the better opinion

I gave up getting Broadlink Remote to work with Crestar. Dont know why people are recommending Broadlink, it even has problems connecting with my WIFI. Go get the Tuya WIFI+IR+RF Smart Remote instead. Works fine with Crestar fans and no issues with WIFI connectivity. Its also compatible with Alexa and Google. U can find it on Aliexpress.
Hi, is this the one you are talking about?

For Aqara if you get the international version (and connected to their OTHERS server) - response time will be better. For Mi Home to function well - you'll have to connect to their China server which will be quite laggy.

Can someone help me better understand your experiences using the Aqara vs Mi Home setup, and which one would you recommend? Thanks.
