Actually what jetblack pointed out has a point. On the day i opened my acc, RM did ask me if I'm very conservative in my investment or willing to take risk. I replied I want to treat it like FD. Thereafter i didn't hear anything anymore. Luckily i still get my welcome pack. If that's a consolation.
There's nothing special with Premier status. Mayb one thing good is what vsvs ever shared. During CNY no need to join long long queue to change new notes
I understand, I don't expect to feel special as well. In my line of work dealing with the real high net worth clients (USD100m<), I have seen RMs flying down from Switzerland to Singapore and other countries just to meet the client and sign some documents and pass them documents personally. So I understand where my position is and do not expect any VVIP kind of treatment for such low amounts.
Only purpose of this thread is to discuss and enjoy promotions from HSBC.![]()
And no, I don't have the need to feel good. I just notice the details. Not as if the Premier welcome letter or package is gonna give me free money into my bank account. If don't have, so be it. I also couldn't care less about the RM, PSM, Lounge, free coffee etc etc. I'm just asking, that's all. Even when I first opened my first HSBC account as a Personal banking customer many years ago, I received a simple "Thank you for choosing HSBC" letter informing me about my new bank account details.
I know, as I mentioned, I don't really care about status. Even if I throw in TRB S$1,000,000, it's still a tiny sum of money, as compared to the real privilege banking status (Bank of Singapore, DBS Private Bank, Julius Baer, Credit Suisse etc) So yes, I know where I am standing. From Jetblack's tone, he just sound elitist and snobbish.
Even when I open a basic UOB Uniplus, OCBC 360 Account many years ago (as mass market personal banking), they even bothered to send a letter "Thank you for choosing UOB / OCBC for your choice of bank, your account opening is approved, enclosed below you will find your new account number details etc etc"
If the above is too much to ask for, then perhaps I learned something new today. In my posts above, I never ever expected Swiss private banking level of service where the RM will all come in suit and tie and meet me in a atas conference room, presenting my new welcome pack, show me his iPad with all the charts and graphs etc etc..
Like walk into a branch without a queue number and speak to someone straight kind of expectations.
