According to recent forum postings, some have received email & opted out via SMS.

I received email from the bank on 30May regarding Upgrade to HSBC Premier “we would like to upgrade your banking relationship….....The automatic upgrade will take effect after 29 Jun 2025……. If you prefer not to be upgraded, simply let us know by sending an SMS to …….. by 29 Jun 2025”. (Details for the SMS format also very clear)

I sent my SMS before 29Jun & received an immediate automatic SMS “Thank you for indicating your preference to not be upgraded……”
I thought you guys are premier all along.. I thought I'm the only one holding personal 😂

Careful. Hsbc premier has a fall below fee.
Separately I have a friend: applied for premier because of the great welcome promo (being new to hsbc). And not just going for the free air miles with $5k spend but the nice Ninja twin compartment air fryer and through the joint premier account, whole family took up 6 premier credit & sub cards to get at free airport lounges to enjoy with their upcoming travel.

at least for the next 12 months, there's no fall below fee as per tnc for this special invite.

but the annual fee for the premier mastercard quite xiong, if don't maintain 200k TRB with them. will see how.

I maintain more than $200K so my premier master credit card annual fee is waived.

The unlimited airport lounge is quite attractive. I haven't seen a credit card that offer unlimited airport lounge.

must we maintain 200k for the entire 12 months or can I just maintain for the last month when they need to charge the annual fee?

What is the best option for the $200K with HSBC to maintain the Premier relationship? Does putting all into EGA count?

You can put all S$200k in EGA account, but interest rate is low currently for savings/current accounts.
Better invest in stocks, bonds, ETFs, unit trusts etc which still count towards the S$200k asset-under-management required for Premier relationship and get higher returns.

Investment la. Put inside EGA let them use ur money to loan out to make themselves huat big big then you lose your money to inflation. Make sense bo this approach?

Invest in stock. The stock trading commission is very low, at 0.15% with no minimum. With Premier, can open HSBC overseas account like HSBC HK.
