Does HSBC charge custodian fee for safekeeping our shares? Any dividend or corporate actions handling charges?

Strange. I was in JB for short vacation. I went to HSBC and they said they can’t open if we not staying there or buying property there

Yesterday they call me and tell me the same thing that if I am not buying property, I can't open an account. :(.
Anyway, I have CIMB Malaysia account and I can still use the account.

Opening a HSBC UAE account is much easier than opening a HSBC Malaysia account. :ROFLMAO:

sorry to hijack a bit, but does SCB or Citi offer similar services (ie. open accounts with other branches + instant fee-free global transfers)?

I see. The website does not mentioned that. I can only see annual fee :ROFLMAO: .

I focus on achieving premier elite (possible in next 5 years) instead of spread different banks is because I also have HSBC HK bank (already meet 28% of the required TRB - Focus on HK and China stock markets) and HSBC Jersey (already meet 20% of the required TRB - Focus on UK stock market). So it makes senses to consolidate to HSBC. Also HSBC Jersey account is super powerful. Basically can fund transfer globally of the same currency with no changes (example, you can transfer JPY, USD, CAD to banks in Singapore and received the same currency without any changes). You can also transfer the same currency to HSBC Jersey account with no inward charges.
HSBC transfer from and to DBS bank with USD, no charges from either bank?

What about other banks (HSBC to/ from Stanchart)?

What sort of timelines are involved when doing transfer? And these transfers can be executed online?

The welcome rewards were great but am struggling to see why anyone should continue to be in hsbc premier banking after the 6 months passage when a personal hsbc account can do.

There is nothing really here that has monetary benefits staying as a premier banking customer beyond it.

Conversely and relative to other banks it has unattractive (punitive) clauses eg. a high fall below fee charge for account and with premier credit card for not meeting the min AUM. (The min AUM being a chicken and egg issue - not attractive enough to stay continuously monthly after month given the nature of its deposit account EGA - incremental balance vs reference month and so you move your funds elsewhere in which case u went below the min AUM).

Would do just as well with a hsbc personal banking account.

I believe there is charges to transfer USD from HSBC Singapore to DBS with DBS but no charges if you transfer USD from HSBC Jersey to DBS.

Same for Stanchart. I believe there is charges for inward remit.

If transfer from HSBC Jersey, it has international transfer tracker and can be done online.

I think SCB and Citi does offer same services opening overseas bank account and global link with free global transfers. However, there are limited branches overseas unlike HSBC.

You have to open HSBC USA account and you can receive from DBS to HSBC USA free. Once you received into HSBC USA, you can transfer within the HSBC account network free. This is how I do it.

I recently transferred from HSBC USD (via EGA) to DBS Multiplier account.

no charges/fees for Premier customers. I was pleasantly surprised.

Inward Remit charge by DBS?
err, outward?

what I'm saying is only DBS side charges. but HSBC no charge at all (both in and out).

I'm not DBS Treasures* but am HSBC Premier.

*heard that DBS Treasures also no charge for foreign currency transfers.

Usually inward TT to DBS account got charge S$10.

I also heard Treasures no charge for foreign currency.

I am also HSBC Singapore Premier and I use it to open HSBC account overseas so that I can TT from DBS to respective HSBC account with no fee and transfer to respective account that has interest.
