For premier member is foc. The card is a special card like what OCBC issued to their premier, private banking folks

I see. The website does not mentioned that. I can only see annual fee :ROFLMAO: .

I focus on achieving premier elite (possible in next 5 years) instead of spread different banks is because I also have HSBC HK bank (already meet 28% of the required TRB - Focus on HK and China stock markets) and HSBC Jersey (already meet 20% of the required TRB - Focus on UK stock market). So it makes senses to consolidate to HSBC. Also HSBC Jersey account is super powerful. Basically can fund transfer globally of the same currency with no changes (example, you can transfer JPY, USD, CAD to banks in Singapore and received the same currency without any changes). You can also transfer the same currency to HSBC Jersey account with no inward charges.

Everyone have their different needs. I started off at OCBC and invest mostly my SRS into stocks etc. also one of the banks I kept most of my assets. I also own their shares so if OCBC bankrupt, I probably game over. This is the bank I got hounded most for all the funny investment. They bundle a voyage and world Mastercard that gives a lot of perks where I mostly fly for free on business class with my accumulated points.

SC is the account my wife control and make mostly investments in US, HK. We don’t invest in their shares. My wife uses their lounge visits when we bring our extended family out. China opened up a VIP section for her when we bring in 10 pax into one of the lounges.

HSBC is our new kid in the block. I use it mainly to keep my SG shareholding and do US trading due to low fees. My wife like it because the Asia presence and also no frill cheap investment fees. So far I haven’t use any perks like credit card etc. more for buy/ sell

Can I clarify that we download the hsbc hk app to apply for new account right? But for Malaysia, have to do it manually at the branch?

Over the past few days, I have been coordinating the opening of an HSBC Malaysia account through HSBC Singapore’s International Banking Services. They contacted me and advised yesterday that I should proceed with the application via the HSBC Malaysia mobile app, using the required documents (passport) and completing the in-app verification. I was also provided with a case reference number.

Once the application was submitted, I replied to their email as instructed so they can proceed with the account-opening process. I have now completed all the required steps and will await further instructions should any additional documents be needed. :ROFLMAO: Not sure will success or not.

Strange. I was in JB for short vacation. I went to HSBC and they said they can’t open if we not staying there or buying property there

Did you tell them you are HSBC Sg premier? I call HSBC Malaysia premier line and they say we can open. I have submitted my application online yesterday without even going to Malaysia.

Ok. I will let you know by next week if I manage to open remotely without going to the branches to open.
