DLC is very resistance to scratches, but unfortunately, upon a big enough impact, you will knock off the coating. If there was no coating, that knock would also have caused a ding in the steel surface.

sacrificial protection isn't good at all times. a ding would have looked less obvious than a peeled PVD coating patch.

Guys I got one piece of the Engineering master II DLC. However the coating of the DLC came off after a slight bump against a wall today. I thought it was suppose to be very durable and resistant to scratches.

Do you think can the coating be fixed at the service center?

one of the reasons why i don purchased PVD'ed watches. it will eventuall peel after a few years under normal usage. Saw a 1yr+ DLC Ball Diver TMT on WUS somewhere and the condition wasnt very nice :(

Haha, thats true, its less obvious, but for some watches, it looks nicer BLACK.

I do not really baby my watches (other than expensive dress watch), in fact I find with some marks of usage, gives the watch more character, even if its in the form of peeled PVD coating or a ding on a DLC case. = )

Each to his own, buy what you like and enjoy it :D

OMG this is such a beautiful watch! Sold at a very low price too! damn I missed it :(

But I can't seem to find any information about it on google :s11:

This is an old model. Its hard to find in Singapore but plenty in HK. Alot cheaper too. :D

Before I left for HK, I found a shop that was selling it in Singapore. PM if you are interested. It has been about 3 months so I cant guarantee if its still available.

Not for me though. Gave the missus a Ball Ohio Lady for her birthday.

Nice! U dont often get to see a lady's watch that glows in the dark using H3 lume.

Thanks! Got it at the place you recommended.

She had her colleagues clamouring over her watch the first day she wore to office. Small dial but still grabs attention.

U are most welcomed! She'll get even more attention when she wears it into a cinema. :) Is the date magnifier on top or below the crystal?

hey guys, wondering it any of you know the srp of Night Train in Singapore? I'm quite tight down at the moment so don't have time to head down to one of the ADs to check it out. Any help would be great.

They usually give 20% discount right? ^^

Cheers

It's around $2k thereabouts after discount if i remember correctly. Yeah 20% is the minimum, anything more depends on your negotiating skills :)
Usually if you pay by cash, the discount can be a few % higher.

I am going to Hong Kong in the middle of this month and I appreciate if someone/anyone can assist me in giving information to where are the best bargains for Ball watches.

I read from earlier posts that prices in HK are less expensive than here by close to $150 to S$200, but isnt this amount equivalent to the 7% GST that we have in Spore as HK have no VAT/GST to speak?

Now will be a great time to buy in HK as the exchange rate has now hit HK$6 to S$1.

I am interested in Ball Engineer Master II Officer NM2038D-L1 White Dial with Orange numbers as well as the Black Dial with Green numbers. The other model that I am keen is the Engineer Master II DLC NM2020C..

Thank you in advance...

I believe if you buy it in Singapore, the GST can be waived if you pay by cash. Have a good one in Hong Kong :)
