The dock background banner is pretty ugly in ios7, anyone knows of ways to make it transparent instead?

i dont think its customizable, in fact for iOS it is pretty unlikely that much customization can be done without jb.

zvonogy.com/post/52771538814/opinion-why-ios-7-is-not-just-about-new-ui-and

This article takes about why iOS 7 is a big deal. Do the developers here agree?

actually that article din really say much but these r some of e nice improvements that i think does matters to devs.

background app refresh
apps will be able to refresh content in the background. e.g if chat apps like whatsapp implement this, when u are notified of new msgs n u dun have time to open e app immediately, it starts to download e new msgs in e background. e nx time u open e app, no need for that irritating "connecting" phase before u see yr new msgs. u r able to turn this setting on a per-app basis in settings.

per app vpn
imagine a secure channel only for that hwz forum app to hide yr ip. this will be very useful for enterprise apps. i believe now, enterprise users need to establish system wide vpn before they can access their enterprise content.

notification sync
syncs notifications across all devices.

push trigger
devs can use a push notification to trigger their app to do stuff. e.g dev can trigger a photo editing app to download new brushes, stencils etc without having to push a new ver of app to users.

as far as i see it. iOS 7 is definitely NOT just about e look n feel only. alot of features to make it a great platform for devs.

A lot of people here are "developers".

Just a note to those "developers" using iOS7 now. Apple can very easily deactivate your phone and disable your UDID. Remember, Activation Lock works both ways ;)

These "developers" have been going on for at least since iOS 5 beta. Activation Lock? Unless there's a hidden backdoor to change the registered iCloud account, Activation lock can be unlocked by logging into icloud a/c ;)

Just because Apple hasn't done it means it will never do it.

This time they let the beta be usable publicly, but what happens if they suddenl;y change their mind and lock all UDIDs???? :s22:

iOS 5 beta also allow installation without UDID?

Then what happened to subsequent beta versions?

Are you referring to UDID activations being sold or those who used the beta without having activated UDID? I thought you were referring to the first scenerio.

I dont think Apple will know whether the device whose UDID is activated is actually a dev's phone or someone who purchased one off a dev :s22:

iOS 5 and 6 had some workaround methods to bypass the UDID activation check, because of bugs found in those versions.

For those scenerios, Apple fixed the bug in the next beta build. If they follow the pattern this time round, it means you will need to get ur UDID activated for updating to the next beta build. And you cant stay on the older beta build either - it expires before the final GM version is out.

petpet - the link wont work for ios 7, so no harm :s22:

Just dl IOS7 on my ip4, looking good, all of my apps are working fine.
As it has already some lag on IOS6, hardly see any diff here.
The wallpaper don't have the moving type only have it in still. so they have limited some function on ip4.

Only for ip4?

I'm referring to those "developers" as well as those who don't have a registered UDID. Think it was in iOS 4, some people got their Apple IDs suspended for selling UDIDs. It's real easy to track which "developer" has a legit UDID for developing and who was selling their UDIDs and they locked those phones.

Maybe Apple is still doing it, I don't know. But I knew friends who were legit devs then who had their developer accounts suspended.

Not trying to scare anyone but this has happened before.

In the older iOS versions, the older phones had a bootrom jailbreak which cannot be patched. So you didn't need a UDID at all. Just have your phone jailbroken and hacktivated.

Nothing to do with UDID bypassing.

We understand that many of our members are excited about the recent introduction of OS X Mavericks and iOS 7 and are anxious to try them out.

We hope to remind our members that the only way to legally do so is to be a registered developer of Apple Software. (as per Apple's NDA)

dev.apple.com said:
Except as otherwise set forth in this Agreement, You agree not to rent, lease, lend, upload on any website or server, sell, redistribute, or sublicense the Apple Software or any services, in whole or in part, or to enable others to do so.

We do not allow sales of UDID slots (aka Developer slots), or allow for any discussions about specific steps to be taken to run the beta software without a proper license. Please also not share links to the beta software as it is considered as piracy.

We seek your understanding and ask that members to not sell your developer slots and also not to request for any.

If you see someone selling/requesting for these slots or distribute mirrors of these software on the boards. Please report them via the report post button
