I went to look at STI max:

sti.jpg

you can see linear or log, no matter what, it looks like a long term upward trend to me, though there are periods of overshoot and undershoot. The 3 visible undershoots are 1) asian financial crisis, 2) dot-com bubble burst, and 3) subprime, aka global financial crisis. It seems that we are currently somewhere around the mean. This oil crisis doesn't seem to be as big as the media presented.

Every story has a counter example.

Look at Nasdaq 1999 chart.

:D After brexit, trump victory and Italy voting result, most of yield based counters already went down a lot.

IMHO, yield based related sectors in US and SG already priced in the Rate Hike. Now the key thing is how auntie Yellen project the thesis of rate hike for year 2017 :D

Last year up 0.25% also didn't crash much :s13: The major correction was due to China side

This time round maybe down for 1 trading session then CXG again. :D just saying nia.. don't flame me :s13:

P.S: Take it with a pinch of salt :)

i think good good chance STI can CXG and KKJ shoot pass 3000

I pray for the best

All these hedging stuff really confusing.....:s22:

Bro, dun mind me asking......so is the 98% hedge by PLife got use or not? Or just pointless?

yup got use they would be paying a fixed rate.

however as ML mentioned depends on what fixed rate they swap to. if u swap to a high fixed rate and u are paying at that high fixed rate vs someone else who is paying a lower fixed rate on a vanilla loan - then you are worse off.

Read books by practitioners. Avoid journalists or finance planner with no real life experience.
