When i posted about fcl mid this year, was pretty confident that they would pay same level of dividends despite a small fall in earnings

Only discomfort now is them investing heavily into thai developers

Thaibev is majority holder.

highlight of the day

http://www.sharesinv.com/prices/index-sti/indicators?PHPSESSID=cadd6cab10814417b2906099514b9fea

if look at STI 30 blue chips the earnings for 2015/16

banks - flat earnings, still decent...not as bad as most thought
marine (KC/SMM/SCI) - earnings down 50%... very bad...
commodities (olam/noble/wilmar,goldn agri) - low to no earnings... super bad
reits (cct/cmt/areit) - flat dpu... still decent
property - lower earnings of 20-30%
telcos - lower earnings of 10%
engineering (SIA engg STE SIA) - lower earnings of 10-20%

all above just rough estimation

THE KEY POINT IS - ECONOMY IS SLOWING DOWN, EARNINGS ARE MOSTLY DOWN

will earnings fall every year? NO
when is the bottom? I do not know

but in the long run, recovery WILL EVENTUALLY COME

Welcome back Stockbot for Christmas rally, anyway soft commodities like palm oil going to have some fun due to the correlate with palm oil production countries currency going down due to fed hike + trump combo. Oil counters are preparing for OPEC meeting rally.
