finally got vickers account. So for beginner, local shares to start with or foreign shares?
Don't use DBSV for foreign shares unless they don't charge you custodian fees (dunno if priority banking offers that).
For the matter, almost no local brokerage is good for trading foreign shares.
did badly.. didnt know dbs will lao so badly today, when I monitor it on friday, it fluctuate few cents only, today 30 cents.. bought in 3 times because see it keep dropping.. over excited cause thought it's the lowest, so bought first one @17.82 then so on...avg 17.74.. still losing few dollars..
hope will keep going up till next year cause heard fed rate hike will benefit banks..
Have you looked at the price profile of DBS (or for the matter, other stock counters) over the past one year or more?
I suggest you stop buying for a while. You do not keep buying in when a $17 stock drop a few cents. Even if you don't get killed by the fear to sell, the transaction fees will kill you.
*If you have 10 years or more of holding power, you are unlikely to lose money on this counter if you can hold your nerves and form a game plan.
