1st post got show my cdp statement

I am currently sitting on 5% paper losses for telcos and reits

about 5-15% paper gains on banks

I rmb in the 1.5x region? Any chance it would drop to 1.3x?

Considering people were saying no 1.3x no buy in early 2016 and if we calm down and analyze, not much had changed since then? Only difference now is interest rate hike, which I believe wouldn't have much impact in 1~2 year time.

Mahjong is like playing show hand. Need "acting" skills as well as tactics.

I only played MJ a bit, but i realise a first things are key to becoming profitable

1) understanding of position, always good to have a fish on your left
2) knowing how to guard when in risky situations
3) managing risk vs reward... go for low payout fast win or high payout slow/lower chance win depending on hand/situations

things like that... I think MJ can be a very skillful game

I can only say reits are already very attractively priced

no one can tell when is the bottom

do not expect to buy stocks and immediately see them go higher and higher

generally when you hold stocks, do expect 10-20% volatility (up or down) to be very common

Having played mahjong for so many years, my offer of advise for anyone who started playing mahjong:-
1) Patience is the key here. The moment you lose your head, you're done.
2) Don't focus on your own tiles. Instead concentrate what tiles your opponent discard. It's far more important to know what are your opponents aiming.
3) Know the rules of the mahjong game, especially calculating points.
4) Don't focus on how to win (big). Focus on how not to let your opponent win (big).
5) It's okay to lose some game in the beginning in order to understand your opponent player style.

Low payout fast win when someone is keeping big tiles to make 4 tai and beyond...

Good if you are the 莊...can "diao 莊" again...diao until you make big combi...

Agreed :s12:

I only play max 5 tai so I like to aim for 搶杠 when I have 3 tai or 4 tai :s13:

Look at it this way.

How does sharing my cost price/average price affect my profit/loss? No one can have the intent to undercut if they don't know my cost/average price. :s8:

No point in sharing cost/average price ma.

If one open a thread, then I would expect one to be open about his price. If not how to attract viewership? :s13::s13::s13:

The same applies to blog/SGXcafe etc. The more viewership the more ad income as well.

Anyway got share is bonus la. If nv share also can learn a lot of things from seasoned investor here. I am just here to learn (and scoop bargains). :D
