No it wasn't stated. It was something I suspected because of the lousy queue number that was way out of the supply of flats available and confirmed with HDB.

Because if I were to select my flat via MCPS, my dad still has to stay in the same place for at least five years and I wanted to make sure it was balloted through the MCPS before I got my dad to go down with me to sign the papers if I were to select a flat. Otherwise it would have been a waste of his time going all the way down to HDB Hub.

Since HDB then confirmed that it wasn't under MCPS, my dad is free from that five year clause and didn't have to go down for Flat Selection with me.

Ahh thank you for the clarification. I guess I have to check with HDB before going down to book my flat in October!

For SBF May 2017 applications, we only got to choose the location...
Afterwhich they will be balloting for the que number... e.g 100 out of 400 Units. We wont be able to select any project right now and only the location such as "SengKang" or "Jurong".

After we go down to the appointment, we will tell them we under MCPS or PPS scheme? Clarify if I'm wrong, thanks.

1. If you had checked to be balloted under MCPS scheme at the point of application, they will just place you under that priority scheme. Regardless if ultimately the flat you choose isnt within the 2km. You should have received a letter from them informing you that you are under what scheme.

Again, this is my speculation.
Cos it doesnt make sense that if they see that you did not choose a unit within the 2km... they will cancel your application? Highly doubt that.

2. If you had chosen a unit within the 2km range from your in-laws, then they will need to be present either during the 1st Appointment (Selection of Unit) or 2nd Appointment (Signing of Agreement). During which they will need to sign declaration that they will not be moving from their present address for the next 5 years.

If I am not wrong..
PPS is automatic. As long as your marital status is married (with your spouse as the co-applicant) and you have a child below the age of 16 (the child has to be in the application as an occupier), you will be automatically balloted for it.

To be balloted for MCPS, you will need to put your parents/parents-in-laws details in at the point of application.

I believe that subsequently MCPS doesnt do anything. Only aid in getting a better queue number.




But this is just my guess la. I balloted under MCPS too. My area also has 2 areas, 1 qualifies for MCPS. 1 dont. But I believe I got my number cos of the MCPS. Haha.
As for PPS, I just called up to HDB to ask about it.

previously i did recd a letter from hdb saying that i selected MCPS but if i am not eligible my application will be put back to public scheme... now i got a queue no. how will i know if it is that i gotta the no. under MCPS ?

I believe so, at least that is what I managed to find out hahah, like if we managed to select a unit in this exercise, I assumed latest is Dec 2017 or Jan 2018.. We should be able to get the keys? And also, if I am not wrong.. completed flats will be faster than this

Yeap, MCPS is related to your parents or in-laws depending on whose address you put. They will need to be present during 1 of your appointments to sign a document and not move for the next 5 years

Incorrect. If the project is completed then you will collect your keys when you sign the agreement.

I went to ask HDB about the timeline, as the estate I am interested in is already completed. They told me that depending on circumstances, some may be able to collect the keys immediately after signing of agreement. More information will be given when we go down to book the flat.

I believe that MCPS works as well if you're opting to stay in the same town as your parents/parents-in-law? So eventually, it doesn't matter how far away your house is.

but i called they the representative say can move ... but must within the same town or within 2km ... but i forget to ask ... like tt i can choose flat that is out of the 2km ? but come to say ... cannot be cannot let me choose right ...

btw, you can call them to check if you gotten ur queue no. from any pirority schemes ... the cso told me my queue no. is gotten using MCPS...

Lets say if you have an appointment at Oct 2017, if your taking grant for
those completed build unit. You still need to wait paperwork process for them to topup your CPF. etc....

If your not taking any grant, of course you can straight take loan from HDB/Banks and get the keys asap.

I suppose those taking grants will need to wait another 2-3months ahead

We not taking grant n likely using bank loan. Hopefully can get our unit faster.

did you apply using MCPS? if so, then your mum will not be able to sell her house within your MOP. it doesn't matter if it's out of 2km range or not, i clarified with HDB prior to applying.

Wow ^^", your scenario seems challenging.

1) If those flat not within 2km, they most probably reject your application.
But they will let you choose maybe another further area without grant for staying near parents. It will be void for the grant

2) If you can choose flat within 1-2km that near your parents. He/Her will have to sign an agreement for 5years for not able to sell his/her flat for this period of time.

So my best opinion is you still choose flat for SBF, but don't take the stay near parents scheme. And your parents can continue selling the flat, kill two birds in one stone.

but my queue no. is under the MCPS scheme ... this is the part i am confused ... cause they gave me a queue no under the scheme does it tied my mum to stay there for another 5yrs .. but come to say my mother shifting to somewhere nearer to those sbf projects i am taking ... so its kinda confusing ... i think i need to go down hdb or call them again to ask ...
