I watch my EPL with the MIO TV app on iPad sometimes when I am at my in laws house on Saturday evenings.
Just got to know that they will start charging for this service soon.

Really feel cheated as I signed up for MIO instead of cross carriage with Starhub and subsequently terminated Starhub because I thought this is really a good app that will not be available for cross carriage customers.

So if you're on Starhub and sign up for cross carriage of EPL, you can still watch EPL on Singtel TV GO?

If you already have RJ45 cabling in your house, you can use that. If not I believe Singtel only recommends direct connection to router for MioTV so you might need to get wiring done. Singtel no longer recommend homeplugs for MioTV as its unstable.

There isn't any wireless solution, unless you use singtel's wifi mesh technology. It can be purchased in a pair package, or it can be rented on a monthly basis.

The wifi mesh is a more reliable option comparing to home plugs, and is also more useful than a installation of data points. The mesh creates a better wifi coverage as well while providing good connection for ur singtel tv..

More info u can see from singtel website, I have a friend who is using it now and he claims it's quite reliable, though the monthly rental is a little worth considering.. hahas

No what I meant was I chose MIO over cross carriage with Starhub then because I wanted Singtel TV GO but now they going to make me pay for it. Sigh.

Just call in and enquire. It should be possible since Singtel is slowly phasing out their ADSL network. If don't have and they still offer ADSL for miotv then just go for it then. Price is still okay without EPL.

it is possible. I am using singtel tv with starhub fibre Internet. the only problem is you need to pay for the digital phone line subscription, about 9 bucks after gst. normally it's included free if you sign up for singtel Internet

Sent from Sony D5833 using GAGT

hi guys, not sure if this is the right place to ask for advice but i need help regarding Singtel TV

I have been subscribing to BPL via Singtel TV for very long already, am very sure that I wasn't on any contract (do not like to commit in case I want to terminate, not that there are many incentives to re-contract too)

final straw after the price has been increasing, even want to charge for Singtel TV GO, so I went down to their Singtel shop last weekend to terminate the service.

to my amazement, the staff informed me that I had a running contract which was supposedly signed up since the last World Cup, hence there would be some termination charges.

I emailed their CS to investigate, and the CS who called back regarding my enquiry claimed that someone did the recontract online using the suscriber's NRIC, DOB etc. He told me that during that particular promotion, subscribers could do the re-contract online just by filling in the NRIC, DOB etc WITHOUT any need to log in to their own Singtel accounts, hence not able to do anything about the early termination charges. CS suggested to make a police report before their relevant Singtel department can carry out further in depth checks.

Just curious whether is this true a not. How is it that a re-contract can be done online just by submitting NRIC and DOB on an open and unsecure platform without verifying the authenticity of the suscriber by making them login to their personal account? IIRC, for StarHub, you have to login to your personal account in order to make any changes to your services, much less re-contract.

Any advice on further courses of action to take will be appreciated, I do not want to pay the termination charges!! I did not even watch a match of the last World Cup!! :s22:

LOL now i confused! so suppose i am on Starhub/M1/MR fiber

A) Can Singtel TV be transmitted via fibre thru the digital line provided by other telcos?

and

B) As of today if one does not have ANY fiber plan, Singtel would still transmit via phone line /ADSL and charge you for the analog phone line?

Is A & B correct as of today?

What's this wifi mesh thingy? How does it differs from home plugs?

Not sure if this is the same one. Instead of homeplugs, its 2 wifi routers instead using 5ghz wifi. Should work from living room to bedroom but not recommended for longer distance.

Think of it as a set of devices, smartly connected wirelessly which allows your device to be connected at the fastest speed around the mesh zone.

Home plugs exist on this own, standalone AP. Even if you have multiple of it, it will not be as efficient as a mesh for, say Wi-Fi roaming.
