No i'm afraid its impossible.

Even if you have the tech know-how, singtel tv must be installed by the technician as i think they will need to ensure the service is up and running before they leave the house. However, I'm not sure if the current practice still remain.

Why would you want to self install? Cut down on installation cost?

What you can do is to allow them to come over to install singtel tv. Then after they installed, make sure everything is working fine and leave, you can just plug out everything and arrange your wiring again.

Thats what I did (for my fibre connections) lol! The tech came over to install everything (But not the ST TV as my previous plan was not that fast to support ST TV and a PC connection simultaneously. So the set top box is stored somewhere and I can't find it in time for them to install). After they left, I plugged out all the cables and arrange them the way I liked, including the ST set top box after I found it. Took me 2 whole hours to cable tie the cables, set up the system and configure everything to my liking hehe!

i was also using 3rd party router when i had singtel tv installed.

you can always tell the technician to set it up and ensure its running before you sign the form, then you ownself arrange lor. i'm sure its much less a hassle for the tech and for you also.. they won't die die tell you to use the singtel router..

but of cos, you must tell the tech to plug the ethernet cable from the set top box to your own router according to the iptv profile you set. you don't go tell the tech to figure out his own cos he's not trained bah..

if both parties also dunno how to hook up to 3rd party router or the 3rd party router simply don't make singtel tv work, then u jolly well use the singtel router lor... :D:D

Mio TV box not outputting 1080p signal

Hi all,
Hope to get some help here. I've just bought an LG EG920T OLED tv (which is 4k). I've just found out that the signal output from the Mio TV box as detected by the TV is only 1080i even though it says 1080p in the resolution settings on the STB.
When I change the output on the box and change back to 1080p, the TV briefly picks up 1080p 24hz and then defaults back to 1080i.
The Singtel tech came. Tried another box with the same issue and then said that the box is not compatible with new TVs! If that is the case, then I find no reason to stick with Singtel anymore.
Tested on a number of HD channels
Can anyone help, please?

Have you tried with another HDMI cable ?

The cable might not be able to support the BW of the stream.

Also, besides the cable, have you checked with LG if the HDMI port you are using is suitable for IPTV set top box? I mean, LG likes to have designated HDMI port for different uses, i have on LG 4K tv at home too.

An example is here:

They have MHL, ARC etc ports...

Believe that is just a option of the STB, I encountered the same thing, not a box issue. None of the broadcasters in Asia are broadcasting in 1080p format yet, there are no 1080p content for now. Starhub also the same.

Thank you for your reply.
HDMI 2 is marked as ARC and the other 2 don't have any special marks. I've tried all three now, and no joy. Still 1080i only.

The Singtel tech guy says that that used to be the case in the past, but nowadays there is plenty of 1080p material. Besides my previous 7 year old Sammy showed a 1080p signal.

OK, it's official. Singtel do not have any 1080p programming. They only do 1080i. We seem to be stuck in the 1990's. Can anyone confirm if Starhub does true HD please?
