I can confirm this set up works if you want to connect singtel mio tv wirelessly using airties mesh + Asus router.

Big thanks to renfred. So the set up is this for anyone who wants to try.

Tp-> (optic cable) -> singtel ont -> (ethernet cable) -> Asus Router -> (ethernet cable) -> Airties mesh 1 -> (wireless) -> airties mesh 2 -> (ethernet cable) -> singtel mio tv.

1) reset all your devices ( ont, ASUS router, both airties mesh, singtel miotv)
2) turn on ont. wait for all the lights to be green
3) turn on ASUS router. Make sure Wan port is connected to ont. wait for all lights to be stable
4) connect router to computer using ethernet cable. (Can use the wifi also)
5) configure the vlan profile. Select singtel-others. This will block port 4 of ASUS router for miotv. Save settings
5) turn off both router and ont. wait about 30 seconds.
6) turn on ont. all lights to be green
7) turn on ASUS router. All lights stable
8) turn both airties mesh on and wait for both to be linked ( stable light on both device)
9) connect airties mesh 1 to port 4 of ASUS router using ethernet cable
10) wait for 30 seconds
11) connect miotv to airties mesh 2
12) wait 30 second.
13) turn on singtel tv and wait 2 mins

It should work fine. I don’t have any signal problem since last night. It’s working well. Hope it work well for everyone else who wants to do a similar setup.

A very interesting topic, and one I'm glad I came across as I was researching. A bit late to the party but in my case (more or less the same setup), both my fiber points at the TP have been used; 1 for my internet via ViewQwest and 1 for my Mio TV which is connected through the ONT.

My current setup:

1) TP -> (optic cable) -> Singtel ONT -> (ethernet cable) -> Singtel router -> (ethernet cable) -> Mio TV

2) TP -> (optic cable) -> VQ modem -> (ethernet cable) - > Asus Router -> (ethernet cable) -> TP-Link Deco M9 Plus 1 in Living Room -> (ethernet cable) - > TP-Link Deco M9 Plus 2 in my bedroom

If you're wondering, I had trunking done to my room so that I have wired connection for my bedroom. Hence why my 2 Deco nodes are wired. I've always wanted to get a second Mio TV box inside the master bedroom for my parents but I've always found it way too complicated given my situation. I understand that I'm not using airties mesh by Singtel, but I just wanted to try and see if other meshes would work.

I can't connect my Singtel ONT to my ASUS WAN because then I'd have no internet. If I were to connect my VQ modem to my ASUS WAN and have my Deco 1 into port 4 of my ASUS router, where then do I plug the cable from the Singtel ONT? Can anyone help me on this?

OR would it simply be so much easier if I paid abit and continue the trunking to the master bedroom since it's just next to mine as well?

Thanks bros!

eh...urs is simi package / plan?

I call them they say it in some special package..need to pay extra again :(

Wow..thanks.
I guess the CSO on the phone was confused then prolly he referred to the new lesiure pack.

May i request you to double check?
Cos i have checked with all my friends that is on JingXuan Value Pack
Channel 256 is just not there and i just check on my phone also.
It is a situation of not added back to the "packs" then a individual account issue.

Hi WestGuy,

We are equally sad to see TruTV go, but the channel provider Turner Asia Pacific will be discontinuing the channel's broadcast across Southeast Asia including Singapore, so it's not something we can help too.

Sad. No more TruTV Channel 346 from 1st Jan 2019 :(

Hi guys,

I am a MyRepublic fibre broadband user with Starhub cable tv. Was told to change to Fiber TV provided by Starhub because Cable TV services will end next July. However, the problem with Fiber TV provided by Starhub is that I need to sign up for their fiber broadband. I dont feel a need to do so especially when I am already on MyRepublic. So I was considering of jumping ship to Mio TV instead.

Can I know if
1) Mio TV is a Fiber TV?
2) Do I need to have Singtel broadband to have Mio TV services?

1) Yes, it is an IP-address pay TV provider
2) Need not subscribe to Singtel Fibre BB services, but need to utilize the 2nd port of your Fibre termination point as ST need to install their ONT equipment with their set top box connected to that ONT.

You can be subscribed to an ISP for Fibre BB and ST MioTV service separately. But not for Starhub's case though, I was hoping IMDA can do something about this with Starhub's nonsense for strict bundling Fibre BB + Pay TV

Thanks for your quick reply. Are there any costs to get a MioTV set up box? Yes I agree. Starhub's Fiber TV + Fiber BB is atrocious. Thanks

call their sales hotline 1609 ;) ISPs usually state lotsa installation/activation charges etc. But sometimes charges can be negotiated or waived over the phone, just try your luck :)
