i also think is this brand cos you go to their st homepage only this brand wireless bridge is compatible to tv not samsung hone connect

not airties. i posted the link below. This home bridge does not serve internet but just the singtel tv only.

samsung home connect can work with singtel, but must use the singtel issued router.

Hi all,

Our Singtel TV product team explained that the wireless home bridge (WHB) enables wireless connection between our ONR and Singtel TV set top box.

Unlike AirTies which improves general WiFi connectivity, the WHB optimises and prioritises video traffic for a better TV experience. It features beamforming and 4X4 antennas, resulting in low packet error rate, and speeds of up to 600Mbps in most scenarios.

A WHB could be issued to a new customer signing up for an additional Singtel TV set-top box but are facing wiring issues. Therefore, the WHB is not issued by default but is subject to assessment by our field engineers.

Hope this clarifies, thanks.

This wireless bridge is airties right?

sadly my home cannot go cable...mrs don't want drilling....so when i saw this option....mrs agree and we confirm with ST they cannot threaten our home will drilling...if FE onsite state cannot install through cable they will have to provide us with wireless bridge...for free as indicated

http://www.singteltv.com.sg/_pdf/generic-tnc.pdf

On page 6 and 7, wireless home bridge is mentioned.

Basically this wireless home bridge enables singtel tv signal to be broadcasted from point A to B (where your non DVR set top box is) wirelessly. It only serves the singtel tv service and not internet, which means you can't connect wifi from it.

This wireless bridge is subjected to the same wifi interference and that they recommended suitable placement only if you see the signal level is high. I have yet to try this personally but i guess i will still prefer cable. :D

i just subscribe this ...anyone know how does the wireless bridge works?

Nice explanation about the differences between the WHB and the Mesh solution (like Sorties) which works with SingTel TV.

Is it possible to give the current WHB device details like the vendor and model number? Thanks.

Since the WHB is also a wireless AP, so it should be able to provide the wireless internet access to the other device as well, right?

Once the customer is offered the WHB, will they still get the AC Plus?

ONT itself can only provide one active LAN port if you have fibre service active. Therefore the 2 set top boxes must be connected to a router capable of supporting singtel tv set top box.

Whereas if you subscribed to only singtel tv service without the fibre service, then the ONT itself can provide the singtel tv service without a router.

Yes. Had read such deployment before. But whether they do it for you maybe that’s what we cannot confirm; there’s more than a way of doing it.

Also, those with fibre service, some got it deployed over port 2 to bypass singtel router due to unstable quality issue. You can search a bit in this thread.. :)

Hi all,

The Wireless Home Bridge (WHB) primarily provides wireless capability for the Singtel TV service. As such, TV data packets are prioritised over others. It is not optimised for general Internet coverage.

WiFi Mesh is omni-direction, full and all round coverage while WHB is generally uni-directional as you point one unit to face the other unit connected to the Singtel TV set-top box.

The current WHB we issue is from Technicolor, model is TG233.

Thanks.

Hi guys, just recontracted and found this amazing trick to get discounts for your mio tv.
Go to the Singtel @ Jurong Point and say you want to terminate your singtel tv. They will redirect you to this retention counter that can give you lots of discounts.

I managed to recontract my fibre at $39.90, and get 50% for my entire contract for Singtel tv( only $12/month for my tv plan). Also they waived the box rental for the entire duration of the contract. Very worth. Last time pay $40/month now pay $12 for the same thing.

They purposely give you many discount so they make you stay, so just say you want to terminate tv when you actually don’t want

Haha good one. I did not say I wanted to cancel last year at SingTel Jurong Point but they did give me one year half price for SingTel TV. I was out of contract for quite some years then.

Still my Fibre broadband is more expensive than yours. Overall I think your deal is S$5 cheaper combined than my one.

if its too far apart without line of sight, then i assume its useless also. Wireless equipment is always subjected to physical environment.

face to face means the both faces of the wireless bridges must be facing each other's direction. imagine it to be a radar with a dish and needle.

Agree that it's useless. Can't imagine Singtel implementing something that in all likelihood won't be useful to most of us.

I mean, how many of us have an apartment configuration that will allow line-of-sight placement for the STBs to work wirelessly?

I think we may be missing something here.
