Am on ST Fiber 100 now, no issues so far. As I use a DVR Box, the tuner streams gone up to 1 SD & 5 HD, meaning I got record up to 5 programs at the same time.

In fact, I dropped a lot of add-on channels from Starhub and with the money saved, I upgraded from Ultimate Pack to Jinxuan Gold......I still got money leftover.

Cheers.
I am using SH as it has kid channels like Nick Junior and Disney Junior for my kid. I intend to get Mio for myself when i re-contract with Singtel fibre.

Guys i need some advice:

  1. I intend to subscribe MioTV with the Sports Action value package which is $54.90/mth
  2. Monthly rental for Settop box is $4.90/mth
  3. Since its a IPTV package there is an Ethernet modem provided but is there internet connectivity from the modem or its is just pure for MIO usage and no other purpose? I am not subscribing MIO home as I am already on M1 200mbp fiber

It is purely for mioTV usage. The backend is different from their Internet. Different IP address, different gateway, etc.

Hey guys,i have some question regarding 2nd home line here.

So i was having frequent drop signal issue with my mioTV lately,so i called Singtel and they send the technician to come and check.

The technician then recommend me to seperate my singnet and mio tv.And install 2nd home line just for the mioTV and the installation would be FOC.

So may i know what is the installation procedure like?Do they have to carry another wire around my house to the tv area?So they can just use the existing port?

Thanks for any reply :)

You will be given a new telephone number and therefore a new telephone line need to be run from the DP outside your home to the inside of your home. To the TV area? Yes, if that is where you want the new phone line to be. There will be a new phone socket since different phone line.

If your ADSL BB is 8Mbps or higher, then:
1) this 2nd home line rental is free
2) installation also free
3) new modem will be provided
But please double-check with SingTel first. Don't take the technician word for it.

If you use this 2nd home line for calls, then charges will apply. If you decide later to cancel your ADSL BB, then this 2nd line rental will become chargable.

If there is already a phone socket around your TV chances are that the lazy contractor will use the outer pair of your existing line to provide you the mioTV service on separate ADSL line.

The good thing is, the procedure is a pretty quick one without the mess of running trunking and another cable.

My TV area has a phone socket which is what im using for mio and singnet.
Is it possible to assign my current socket with second phone number for mio and new socket with current number for singnet and phone. This way i can cut down the length of wiring.
And just confirmed with singtel that installation would be free.

By using outer pair of my existing line mean using my current socket with two separate ADSL line? :s11:
That would be great for me if that is the case..

It can be done. It would be best to have two separate ADSL line if you have MIoTV. If SingTel could upgrade its existing ADSL2 network to VDSL2 network. It can solve this multiple line issues and building access issues. VDSL2 provides 100Mbps in both directions. It is used by Hong Kong, Germany and so on to upgrade the ADSL infrastructure. :s13:

Why not try using fibre instead of ADSL?

Wait for the contractor to come down and fix for you, then you'll know the actual results.
Very hard to say if the cable will be there or not, or maybe many years never used, oxidised already.

Cancelling my mioTV and going over to Starhub. Anyones know what do we need to return? Box, power adaptor and remote control? Are we allowed to keep the HDMI cable?
