For customers who are out of contract to their mio TV and/or BroadBand Bundle services and are not currently paying for set-top box rental, a nominal $4.90 monthly charge will be implemented for your first HD set-top box from 1 June 2013. The charges for any additional HD set-top boxes or DVR set-top boxes under your account will also be adjusted accordingly.
For out of contract BroadBand bundle customers, we encourage that you recontract to enjoy a special rate of $1.90/mth (U.P. $4.90/mth) on your first HD set-top box.
For existing customers who are still within the contract but are not on our new content packs, there is no change to the set-top box charges. Once you have reached the end of your contracts, we will notify you in advance of the set-top box charges.

I am on the then pre-new content packs, the JinXuan Combo Pack at $29.90 Barclay Premier League, Star Sports with free Family channels and free HD set-top box. Did not upsize to Sports+ at $34.90 otherwise kanna double-whacked the set-top box rental and lose the Family channels because they say any new content pack come with set-top rental from Oct 2012 onwards and Sports+ only do not have Family channels.
I believe I will continue with no set-top box rental until my contract expires in 4 months time.
