can anyone define:
"For existing customers who are still within the contract but are not on our new content packs"??:s22:

QUOTE from ST FAQ
I am an existing customer and I am keen to remain on my existing content. Will I be charged rental for my set-top box?

For customers who are out of contract to their mio TV and/or BroadBand Bundle services and are not currently paying for set-top box rental, a nominal $4.90 monthly charge will be implemented for your first HD set-top box from 1 June 2013. The charges for any additional HD set-top boxes or DVR set-top boxes under your account will also be adjusted accordingly.

For out of contract BroadBand bundle customers, we encourage that you recontract to enjoy a special rate of $1.90/mth (U.P. $4.90/mth) on your first HD set-top box.

For existing customers who are still within the contract but are not on our new content packs, there is no change to the set-top box charges. Once you have reached the end of your contracts, we will notify you in advance of the set-top box charges.

I am on the then pre-new content packs, the JinXuan Combo Pack at $29.90 Barclay Premier League, Star Sports with free Family channels and free HD set-top box. Did not upsize to Sports+ at $34.90 otherwise kanna double-whacked the set-top box rental and lose the Family channels because they say any new content pack come with set-top rental from Oct 2012 onwards and Sports+ only do not have Family channels.

I believe I will continue with no set-top box rental until my contract expires in 4 months time.

in summary (for set top box):
a) new customer pays $4.90
b) existing cust (w contract)will pay after contract ends (notfication in advance)
c) existing cust (w contract) needs pay $4.90 if change to new content.(encourage no change if one refuses to pay the $4.90.
d) cust wo contract "cajoled" to recontract @ $1.90

anymore other possible scenario?
P.S.: I fall under cat "d".

I'm on 50mbps extremehome plan. currently paying slightly over $60 for internet, home line and mio tv (no set top box rental fee) and enjoying the family channels....we have 3 line mobile lines and each line is getting 25% discount (based on the old promo).

if change to this plan have to pay $69.90/mth + $1.90/mth for set top box (if sign up before 30th April, if not will be $4.90 if starting 1st June). the mobile discounts will also drop to 20% each.

i think it's better to stick to my current plan and just pay the $4.90.

good thinking!
just a calculation
($62.90+4.90) for 24months $1675.2
(($69.90+1.9)x22)(2month free)+1.9+1.9( rental 2months) for 24months $1583.4
saving is $91.80 if recontract

If the drop in 5% for 24 months(due to recontract) is more than $91.80, then by all means don change.
otherwise may consider to change?

Thanks for the calculations...

Currently we have 3 plans

3G Ione Plus $25.68/mth
Flexi Lite $39.90/mth
Flexi Plus $99.90/mth

All 3 enjoying 25% discount... $2978.64 over 24 months after the discount.
At 20% will be $3177.22 over 24 months.

Difference is $198.56 which means i'll be paying slightly more than a $100 if I recontract....

Lets say if I recontract my existing 50mbps fibre miohome to the 100mbps as advertised, what will happen to my existing free 30gb 1mbps mobile bb bundled with the previous plan?

same here bro. on the 50mbps plan as well. contract finishing soon as well.

i thought the rental of the modem is at 4.90 as well?

so in this case, it will be 4.9(modem) + 4.9(tv- box) ?

if we stick to our current contract, after contract over, will the prices remain the same?

any luck using mio tv remote DVR feature?

hi guys,

today I just noticed that miotv has a feature that allows you to record tv shows from their website.

it sounds cool enough but the website is so crippled, I couldn't login properly and see the "list of tv shows", anyone tried this?

Just received a letter from SingTel saying they're gonna charge for first set top box at 4.90 per month. Is this a new thing?

What's the procedure to cancel internet and Mio totally?

Thanks.

The feature has been available for quite some time.....just not promoted much. Think it works better on IE.

Not sure when it kicked in, but when I emailed the customer service, they confirmed that they will be charging for STB rental. This is in-line with StarHub rental fees ($6.92/month for HD box).

A bit confusing. So if let's say I'm going for the $69.90/month Fibre bundle with Mio, then they'll charge me $69.90 + STB rental?

I now on ADSL mio home + 2 mio tv set-top box. So total they gave me 3 phonelines, 2 for tv and 1 for internet. If i upgrade to 100mbps fibre bundle, my mio tv will become fibre or remain as ADSL?
