Hi guys,

I switched my router to rt-n66u and now my miotv is not working.
I have that wireless video bridge that connects the set top box to my wireless modem.
I plugged one side of the bridge into LAN4 of rt-n66u and the other side to set top box just like what the tech did.

Anyone have any ideas why?

Thanks!

Yup. I just got this. I don't even watch MIO that often, and when I turn it on now, it's down. Rubbish. I wouldn't subscribe to MIO if it weren't bundled in with the family mobile lines.

just received the letter

damn dulan, thought they say those on rolling contract will continue to pay old rates?

now force me to auto upgrade or take another package

gonna boycott and cancel mio
I've already cancelled. I was pissed off with them going back on their word (they earlier assured me that as long as I "don't do anything", I will continue to pay $25).

BUT I just received another letter dated Nov 27 from Singtel today - a reminder about the "auto upgrade" to the higher price package.

Don't know whether to laugh or to cry. Singtel is still clueless that their earlier letter pissed off a lot of people, and they now want to piss people off some more again with a reminder. Singtel PR really fail big time.

Does anyone know the model name for the Mio TV DVR set top box?
Need it for my Logitech Harmony remote setup.

I thought it's just me. When I had it back then, I turned on like once a week, just to browse, and every time it takes ages to turn on, or don't turn on at all. That was about the time they were starting to CHARGE for the set top box. I didn't think it was going to affect me, as i was under an old(-er) plan and they didn't really state ALL subscribers will have to bear the cost. Only when i was charged, I called them saying my Mio TV hasn't been able to function, and they say they can't waive the charges or give any compensation as i didn't call immediately for having issues. Hmm....

Hi,
Just to check, I just received the new Mio TV tatung dvr box, noticed that the volume was very soft. I was previously using the motorola stb and the volume is alright; upgraded to the tatung unit due to dvr feature.

Any ideas if it may be an issue with the tatung DVR box or Singtel issue?

Thanks.

is singtel trying to smoke me?

I am a starhub cable tv user.

In August, I signed up for Singtel's Mio stadium to watch Bpl through the cross-carriage ruling. I was told that the contract would be for 2 years. However I just received a letter saying that my current sports package has ended or will end by 31 Jan 2014 and BPL will only be available as part of mio stadium, Jing Xuan gold etc - and the packages are from $59.90/month

Currently Im paying $46.65(starhub do offset $30/mth) a month, just to watch BPL on my starhub setup box.

Anyone faces the same problem? Is Singtel treating us consumer like a fool? Or are there some clauses that I missed out??

This is what Singtel is forcing me to do.. 2 choose 1.... inevitable price hike..

Is this bill yours? I can't help but notice:

1) Free HD set top box provided? You don't need?

2) Contract clearly state 12 months. Yours is 24 months?

3) Cross-carriage only for BPL, not FOX Sports?, not Supersaver Chinese?

4) $59.90 - $30.00 = $29.90 (not $46.65). This $30.00 is on SH bill or ST bill?

I experience this too. It is the Tatung DVR.

What I did was to go to my TV and adjust the volume (for the free-to-air (FTA) channels through wall antenna socket) to a much lower level so that when I switch from FTA to mioTV, the volume levels not so much different.

Or in time to come, the new MediaCorps HD channels will be available on mioTV. By that time, use the set top box for everything. Now also can but only 5 is HD the rest SD but clearer then from wall socket. MediaCorps from Ch 2 onwards.

The bill is billed by Singtel. The $30 reduction is shown on SH's bill instead.
And if i didnt recall wrongly, I was told it was a 2 years contract that I am entering.

And Im watching everything on starhub Setup box, ST box not needed

And you watch ST's SuperSaver Chinese and ST's FOX Sports packages on StarHub when it is not cross-carried? And BPL is only $12.50, not $59.90?

Are you sure? I leave this to you.

Cisco STB also had volume issue. It's much softer than TV cable point. Had to increase 2 times as much in volume settings.

But I found out a workaround. If you're using Samsung TV. Go Menu, Sound, Speaker Settings. Change the value on Auto Volume to normal and cable channels to Off. Play with the settings.

I have an enquiry on non-DVR STB.

Anyone had any issues with their Cisco STB with HDMI connected to their TVs.

When TV is turned on, watching channels on Mio no sound. Had to plug out HDMI cable and plug in again. Happens imminently.

Samsung Model UA40D5000. 4 HDMI
Using first HDMI port (HDMI1/DVI)
Using the same HDMI cable before switching from Motorola to Cisco STB.

Now back with Motorola STB. So far no issue. But preferred Cisco as smaller and got Clock
