To terminate the MioTV (contract ended long ago), do I just head down to either Tampines Mall, Causeway Point or Jurong Point and is the termination done over the counter?

You need to inform 1688 first. Sometimes it’s not a straight forward termination such as you have channels in contractual period etc. They will give you the green light then you go down to the respective collection point to return the stb power supply and remote controller. Cwp is one of those centres and the rest can’t rmb..

Hi. Did anybody receive a call from Singtel claiming to offer a free set top box setup as well as some package that it worth $11.45? Seems dodgy to me.

Google something like Asus Dual wan Mio tv. You will find some similar setup. I had done before when my Singtel router was inoperable.

Edit: sorry the above was when I had both VQ 1Gbps and Singtel 50M fiber plan subscribed at same time and Singtel router was going bad. Anyway, you can search and see. Just saw it.

If you using Asus router and is on vlan profile, only connect to port 4. Other ports won’t work..

yes i know suppose to be on port 4. so i realise i plug into port 1 instead but that is only after i did a factory reset and reflash the firmware(FW_RT_AC3200_30043807743).

now mio tv is working but funny thing is 2.4ghz not working anymore. can detect, but cant connect. reset password and forget network on phone and laptop still same. 5ghz no issue.

All devices on 2.4 also can’t work?

Hi,

So recently, I received a letter that ST is terminating ADSL for Mio and will be upgrading mine to Fibre. Problem is, my ONT is at my main door and the TV is a distance away from it. Does anyone know if Singtel will be providing the trunking service to connect the Set Top Box to the router? Or are there any other alternatives besides trunking lan cables? (avoid trunking at all costs as it's gonna be hella ugly, no way to conceal it).

Any help is appreciated! Thanks!

Telephone point can convert to data point.

yeah i thought about that. but the house is about 10 years old. i don’t think they use cat 5 cables back then, only the one with 4 wires.
Well you can consult Singtel on your this issue.
As issue is not internet but mio tv which do no need high speed as 100mbps as in cat-5.

That is see if they have solution to use tel pt to convert for mio tv usage only.
They can take a look at your premise to verify.

As i am not sure on Singtel, my Starhub did a free advice and conversion to avoid trucking, but mine tel pt is fine as cat-6.
If they do provide free installation on data point, then let them take a good look.

To put it this way as you are force to change but least they should assist you on this matter.
It is up to you as you are the customer.

Yeah, which is why I'm wondering if Singtel will provide data point conversion services as I'm being forced to switch. It'll be shitty if I'm to do bear the costs.

I'm unsure if singtel is gonna bear the cost, but moving forward, i don't see how is this viewed as a coercion.

It just sounds wrong..

Everyone do bear certain cost in doing any changes.
You may mistaken about what i meant as i may not explain clearly.
That is to consult and have a good chat with the ISP.

In my case they can charge me but after communicating with their staff, then the charges was waived.
Mine is recontract to new flat, being forced to.
Recontract do not have free cost as i am given free IPTV subscription for the HomeHub 1000 promo for Recontract.
Noted as recontract but not new sign up.
Thus my saving in $33+ on monthly subscription.
As they can Either no free installation (for new sign up only) &or the promo is not allowed OR pay for relocation charges.

So do talk to them nicely on your problem to see if there is a workaround.

Basically it would not work.
Set top box require an assigned IP Address to the subscriber ONR/ONT connect to.
It is not an independent setup as cable set top box and android type box.
