There's DVR and non-DVR, at different rates. Both are HD versions. I think the current offer is promoting DVR
Anyone tried casting miotv to chromcast? Hows the quality? HD?
The different in rates is due to recording function available as additional cost.
The purpose of DVR is that you can record while not watching or available during that time slot.
Also you can do recording of multiple channels if there is a clash in the timing.
And schedule on the shows series without the need to select individually.
Not forgetting the convenience on watching the recorded shows at a later timing suitable to you.
Recording to maximize the benefits of getting all your favourite channels.
Afterall you paid for the subscribed channels as there will tend to clash among your favourite channels.
I think the cool feature on Singtel TV now is being able to watch recorded shows on a second set top box.
While scheduling a recording, you can set the timer to stop a couple of minutes (can remember the max) after the show. This is good for live shows whereby sometimes they exceed their airtime.
Seriously 45cm long? That’s frigging long! Singtel finally replied & claimed DVR is 32 x 28 x 5.lbh = 30 x 20 x 10cm
need space to ventilate heat
assuming you are getting the new gen box
if getting HDR box... lbh 45 x 30 x 15
can i subscribe to miotv using telephone lines ? not looking at fibre connections
cos already got M1
anyone casts football from SingtelGo to your TV? I find the motion very jerky (like source stream has lower fps)
Hi. I’m currently on singtel miotv and Fiber broadband. Up till today my connection is
Fiber point -> ont-> singtel router-> airties mesh 1-> (wireless ) airties mesh 2 -> miotv.
I had this set up because my master bed room have no data point and the mesh system worked well with my mio tv.
I wanted to replace my singtel router to Asus 88u. So my setup is
Fiber point -> ont-> Asus router-> airties mesh 1-> (wireless ) airties mesh 2 -> miotv.
I did enable vlan tagging in the router and connected my airties mesh 1 to port 4 of my Asus router. But my miotv is not starting up. Is there a way I can setup without running any trunking or using the singtel router. Please advise. Urgent. Thanks.
asus routers do not have both internet and singtel tv connections together in any of the ports. Either internet or singtel tv only.
if your port 4 is connected to mesh, then your singtel tv will work but not internet. devices connected to mesh via port 4 cannot access internet but only singtel tv.
to overcome this, you have to use back the singtel given router as a router, before anything else will work.
Thank you renfred. It’s ok if the Airties mesh I have don’t have internet. As Long as I can eliminate the singtel router I will be happy. So once I’m home I can try this configuration:
Ont -> Asus router Wan port -> Asus port 4 -> airties mesh 1 -> wireless -> mesh 2 -> miotv.
Does the lan port in the both airties matter ?
And I have to set up vlan tagging as singtel mio profile right ?
Can verify if this solution works:
Replacing my airties mesh with another Asus router in my master bedroom and set it up as Aimesh. In this set up, I connect my miotv to port 4 of the Aimesh. Will this work ? Thank you
I cannot say for aimesh because I haven't tried yet.
The lan ports on Airties are both the same.
Ok bro thanks. Today I go reset everything and then do properly. Just to make sure.
After reset:
1)start up ont. all lights green
2) start up my Asus router. All lights up
3)Connect Asus router Wan port to ont port 1 using lan cable
4) do the basic configuration of router via lan cable which is connected to iMac
5) switch the vlan tagging profile to Singtel MioTV
6) restart both ont and Asus router
7) connect airties mesh A port 1 using lan cable to Asus router port 4
8) connect airties mesh B port 1 using lan cable to singtel mio tv.
Am I right. ? Did I miss any restart/procedure ?
