Ok bro thanks. Today I go reset everything and then do properly. Just to make sure.
After reset:
1)start up ont. all lights green
2) start up my Asus router. All lights up
3)Connect Asus router Wan port to ont port 1 using lan cable
4) do the basic configuration of router via lan cable which is connected to iMac
5) switch the vlan tagging profile to Singtel MioTV
6) restart both ont and Asus router
7) connect airties mesh A port 1 using lan cable to Asus router port 4
8) connect airties mesh B port 1 using lan cable to singtel mio tv.

Am I right. ? Did I miss any restart/procedure ?

I can confirm this set up works if you want to connect singtel mio tv wirelessly using airties mesh + Asus router.

Big thanks to renfred. So the set up is this for anyone who wants to try.

Tp-> (optic cable) -> singtel ont -> (ethernet cable) -> Asus Router -> (ethernet cable) -> Airties mesh 1 -> (wireless) -> airties mesh 2 -> (ethernet cable) -> singtel mio tv.

1) reset all your devices ( ont, ASUS router, both airties mesh, singtel miotv)
2) turn on ont. wait for all the lights to be green
3) turn on ASUS router. Make sure Wan port is connected to ont. wait for all lights to be stable
4) connect router to computer using ethernet cable. (Can use the wifi also)
5) configure the vlan profile. Select singtel-others. This will block port 4 of ASUS router for miotv. Save settings
5) turn off both router and ont. wait about 30 seconds.
6) turn on ont. all lights to be green
7) turn on ASUS router. All lights stable
8) turn both airties mesh on and wait for both to be linked ( stable light on both device)
9) connect airties mesh 1 to port 4 of ASUS router using ethernet cable
10) wait for 30 seconds
11) connect miotv to airties mesh 2
12) wait 30 second.
13) turn on singtel tv and wait 2 mins

It should work fine. I don’t have any signal problem since last night. It’s working well. Hope it work well for everyone else who wants to do a similar setup.

Singtel just came to set up my fibre broadband today. The guy mentioned that in future when I get my Singtel DVR set top box, it MUST be in the living room and the other non-DVR in my bedroom. Is this correct?

He mentioned both have access to the same recorded content anyway cos same network but my point is more that I don't want to have to keep running to the living room to record if I can record direct from my room mah!

Plus since the non-DVR box is already in living room, its obviously easier just to plug the DVR one in my master bedroom when I get it.

Just to be sure, it is NOT compulsory to have a box in living room rite? I mean I can always have one DVR in my bedroom and another in my parent's room. We have data points in our rooms.

by logic, there is no difference. I'm unsure what is the rationale for the guy to say that..

I'm equally confused. :s13:

Well as long as I can eventually put the DVR set top box in my room and the non-DVR box (currently in living room) to parent's room then ok liao.

When I relocate the set top box, presumably its plug and play right? No configuration needed?

Just noticed the set top box is connected to my ONR. In future i intend to relocate the box to my bedroom plus get another box for my parent’s room. So i need to buy a gigabit switch to connect to the ONR & then connect the cat 6 cables from my 2 rooms (i have data points in both rooms) to the switch?

Or no need switch & just connect the 2 cat 6 cables to the ONR? Not sure if all ports on ONR can use boh.

all ports of ONR can use for singtel tv and fibre. In the future if you get more set top boxes, can also connect to your AP, cos it will also work the same.

Hi deathflamer

cHK (Singtel TV Ch 510) currently airs with Mandarin audio.

However, selected cHK shows are available for on-demand catch-up accessed by pressing the yellow button on your remote control.

From there, you can choose to watch the catch-up programme in Cantonese audio where available.

Hope this clarifies.

Is cHK channel in Cantonese language?

Hi guys, I had just spoken to a Singtel rep about Singtel tv. I want to know for the StarHub ch855 娱加波道 is equivalent to which Singtel tv channel. My parent watch ch855 on starhub tv so I want exactly same channel. Does Singtel tv has it? He show me a whole list of channel which I don’t see 娱加波道 in it.

娱加波道 is Starhub own in-house channel. SingTel tv won’t have it

Just wondering, if I sign up for the 1Gbps Fibre + TV with free 5 months, the contract is for 24 months right?

Since the first 5 months are free, then if I just recontract at the 21 month isn't it a lot cheaper?:s13:

Or maybe Singtel is smart enough to close this loophole.

Edit: Never mind, just read the TnC. Unless 2Gbps drop in price this won't be viable.

Yes, hence the channel is exclusive to SH. Singtel also has a similar in house hannel, Jia Le, but is a rubbish mixture of drama, variety, infotainment etc. Programs .

Thanks for explaining. I guess I will just stay with starhub for the moment till cable TV service stop then decide.
