Ya cool thx

I see. Asus AC86U is a very good router and it supports Vlan. Unfortunately as a SingTel new subscriber you will get the ONR and you have to use your AC86 as an AP. A bit wasted I would say. Still the WiFi performance of AC86U (AP mode) should be better than SingTel provided AC Plus. You gain a few more lan ports.

ONR got 4 Gigabit ports and two will be used for SingTel TV box and your AC86U. Two are free for you plug in other device like NAS or Android TV boxes or things like that.

You can also use the 4 Gigabit ports of your AC86U.

Keep the SingTel AC Plus as well to be a spare. It can be useful like to configure SingTel TV Go Remote app feature or during troubleshooting.

No point selling the AC Plus, cause people are dumping SingTel AC 1900/AC Elite/AC Plus at S$10-20 in Carousell.

The mio tv dvr can I setup one in room
And the living room on a non dvr box how much will it be ?

What about the singtel go tv deal if I wanna take up this scheme
Example living room non dvr box
Bed room on singtel go tv on Apple TV or on a app how does it work ?
Do I need to have the fibre on singtel in order to use singtel go tv on Apple TV or on app ?

As for the Singtel circle will it applies to singtel sliver plan and Sim onky plan for discount if not the yearly freee upgrade phone still applies to singtel sliver plan without penalty ?

Thanks. Something wrong with my desktop browser. I could view this on mobile.

Sometimes i do have the same issues as yours.

It will pop-up this message: Bad Request (Invalid Hostname)

To solve this issue i re-connect my laptop to another router which would not have any issue.. Or

Alternately you can do this method;
1. When you right-click on the "See all channels" in Singtel website and to select "Copy link address".
2. Open new tab to this website: CachedViews.com
3. Paste the copied link on the URL
4. Use option: Submit Your Page to Archive.org - just wait for it to process that web page.
5. It will create a web cache and produce the result as the same as what it should be display.
Example; Singteltv - Family Starter
Note:
6. Although it may seem tedious to do it on each website pages but do save the web page or using Chrome extensions.
Chrome Extension - Full Page Screen Capture - useful as to save to both options in JPG &or PDF formats.

For your info.

Setting up 2nd mio tv set top box

Hi, I have just gotten a 2nd mio tv set top box and have tried to set up the connections as follow:

ONR>>Singtel router (AC plus)>>1st set top box (in bed room)>>tv (able to watch tv)

and

ONR>>Singtel router (AC elite; set as AP)>>2nd set top box (in living room) >>tv (unable to watch tv)

May I know why am I unable to get the mio tv to work for my 2nd set top box in the living room?

Iirc, one network cannot have 2 gateways.

You might wanna explore using a switch instead..

Or else, you might be using ont instead.

Since you are using ONT, quite some routers will work as long as they have Vlan Function.

More popular routers like those from Asus will have this feature like the AC-68U and AC-86U.

Linksys routers should work as well like the Linksys WRT1900AC/1900ACS.

I myself have used Linksys WRT1900AC with SingTel TV (Mio TV) since 2014.

TP-link

Do not throw away your SingTel Router (eg: AC1900, AC Elite, AC Plus) though, you may still need it for other value added service like SingTel TV Go Hime View and remote, Stingray music, etc.

The reason seems to be that 3rd party Vlan settings only considers SingTel TV support.

Thanks for the info! i'm planning to get AC-86U. Currently looking at Netgear routers as well, but worried that it might be harder to install compared to Asus.

My singtel router is like 3 years old but they refused to replace it for me as i did not want to recontract.

I keep getting random disconnect while using wifi.

Hi tomicaguy,

Thanks for asking, we are expecting promotions for Singtel mobile, fibre broadband and TV for SITEX.

You can look out for our offers at the Singtel booth at SITEX as well as on Singtel.com from tomorrow, 22 Nov.

Thanks.

The price listed for Family Starter pack @$34.90 is inclusive of GST or not ?
Do we have to pay for the set top box rental ? I'm speaking of the default one, not the DVR one which need to pay $4.90/mth for the first 12 months.
