You may consider moving your router into the DB box so that both set-top boxes in two different locations can be connected.

However this may impact your WiFi connectivity given that the router is now in the DB box.

You may then wish to consider purchasing WiFi mesh to increase the coverage.

A noob question here.

I like to have a 2nd singtel tv box for my dual key unit.

Current setup is

ONT(in DB box) to Router (in tv console) to Mio tv box (in tv console)

I have existing lan cabling from DB box to all rooms.

Is it possible to have the 2nd mio tv box to connect to the ONT in the DB Box, to make use of the existing LAN cabling ?

If cannot, what need to be done?

Assuming you are using ONT with SingTel issued router like the AC Plus (or older AC Elite), then you have two methods. ONT has only one port functional for SingTel.

1) Connect your second SingTel TV box to the router port on the TV console

2) Connect Ethernet Cable from one of the Singtel router ports back to the DB Box, which then connect to your second box with your existing Ethernet cabling.

If you are using 3rd party router, usually only one SingTel TV box can be connected with the preset vlan profile.

Does it work if I disable the WiFi function on the router when I shift it into the DB box and I add in a 3rd party WiFi mesh solution which will act as a wireless AP only ?

recently got mio tv, was told my old asus rt-ac86 was incompatible with mio tv... given the singtel arcadyan router but the router damn cui... connection shaky and speed slow

wanna change back to asus routers, any recommendations that are compatible with mio tv

AC-86U is of course compatible with Mio TV.

You will have to retain your homeline with singtel, in this case, your ont will retained for voip+iptv use only and chargable at $9.81/mth

SingTel tells me it’s not possible to run on EOC

SingTel TV works with either Mesh or Wireless Bridge. You can talk to them for more details. SingTel may need to send technician to your place to see if the wireless bridge is suitable or not.

SingTel TV boxes do support wireless, either through SingTel WiFi Mesh (TV and Internet) or Wireless Home Bridge (TV). Both use WiFi.

Hi all,

The Wireless Home Bridge (WHB) primarily provides wireless capability for the Singtel TV service. As such, TV data packets are prioritised over others. It is not optimised for general Internet coverage.

WiFi Mesh is omni-direction, full and all round coverage while WHB is generally uni-directional as you point one unit to face the other unit connected to the Singtel TV set-top box.

The current WHB we issue is from Technicolor, model is TG233.
