moving to our new place soon & thinking of getting singtel tv. we've prev had experience using starhub tv & we loved it bcos we could watch our tvb dramas (catch up tv) on the tv itself, or on starhub go when we're out. the sad thing is singtel tv doesnt have this, but since we'll be getting the EPL pack, it'll def be more worth it to get singtel tv instd of SH.

is there anything similar for singtel tv? where we can watch catch up hk tvb dramas both on tv & on phone? i cant seem to find anything similar apart from chk (ch 510)?

SingTel does not have TVB.

You will need to buy Mi Box S (around S$80) and then subscribe to TVB Anywhere+ for S$5.98 per month. It is good for small screen and big screen.

worth it to buy the mi box just to watch tvb anywhere? i doubt we'll use much of the mi box tbh...i've read of tvb anywhere but not sure if can connect to tv to watch?

Singtel TV on Portal Mesh

Dear Singtel,

Yesterday your service guy came to set up the singtel tv and fibre.
I had a portal mesh set up at the fibre point and another at the tv set. (previously on starhub fibre).

However, your service guy used a separate technicolor brand mesh to set up the singtel tv.

My question is, can I use my current portal mesh instead of using a separate mesh for the singtel tv? when i signed up at bugis shop, they said i can use my portal wifi mesh at home without any additional set up.

Unfortunately Samsung Smart TV is not that smart in terms of apps support compared to Android TV like those from Sony and Sharp. Same for LG. There is no support of TVB Anywhere+ for Samsung (and LG ) smart TV.

There is an alternative though. If you have an Android phone, you can cast from your Andriud phone to the Samsung smart TV as TVB Anywhere+ does support screen mirroring with Miracast. And Samsung Smart TV supports Miracast. Not so sure if the quality is good for you or not. You can try it by yourself.

As such, our field engineer will install the Technicolor WHB for free, to ensure you enjoy high quality of service on Singtel TV.

To confirm when you mentioned "Portal mesh" you are referring to the Portal brand of WiFi mesh equipment? If you are, we wish to clarify that Portal Wi-Fi Mesh is not part of the supported equipment for Singtel TV.

Should the video traffic be routed through Portal mesh, video packets may get de-prioritised and dropped, resulting in frames freezing on Singtel TV.

Have followed the vlan settings guide and internet is working but singtel tv is not working when plug directly to the orbi router lan port- configured for IPTV,

Vlan ID - 20
Priority - 4

Anyone can help here?

Firstly double confirm you are using an ONT and not an ONR.

Then check out the following thread to see if have followed the Netgear instructions correctly. And you may need to try different port (usually the last Ethernet port for SingTel TV for 3rd party routers).

If you still can not get that to work, then follow the last resort to have double NAT.

I am switching from Starhub Cable broadband / TV to Singtel fibre broadband and Singtel TV.

Disappointingly, after speaking to various Singtel representatives (both at Singtel outlets and Singtel telesales), the initial offer is always only a derisory 6 months free broadband.

Further, despite sending a copy of my Starhub bill (as evidence that I am a Starhub cable broadband and Starhub TV subscriber), at the request of your Singtel telesales staff, the best offer to date is for 10 months free fibre broadband.

This was despite requesting the telesale staff to escalate the request to higher management and highlighting the free 2 year fibre broadband offer.

Are there other hidden conditions or considerations which a potential subscriber should be made aware of? Why would Singtel advertise an offer does appear to be capable of being honoured?

Has any customer switching over to Singtel fibre from Starhub cable broadband been rewarded with the free 2 year fibre broadband service?

i didn't take the offer and maintain hubber plus and get action pack with 2 STB @9.90 with WHB

If u are only trying to switch from cable tv then 6 months off Singtel tv.

Singtel tv does not require u to subscribe to fibre internet.

Just wondering, are home plugs still a viable option for Singtel TV? I remember I was able to use them a few years back but not sure if things have changed. Would prefer a solution that I can just drop in to my existing setup without too many changes since I'm using my own router etc.
