The Singtel technician has changed my ONR, and took more than 45 mins to configure it. He has connected the STB direct to the ONR which previously it was through my Linksys Router. After that 4k Box work again, but will monitor for next few days and see how?

So you are using the Linksys E9450 router? Other than Netgear, it is the first non SingTel issued router to support Singtel TV in AP mode connected to the SingTel ONR. So it may not be surprised the feature is not that stable yet.

Asus and TP-Link routers do not support Singtel TV box when running in AP mode with the SingTel ONR.

The Singtel technician mentioned that when IPTV faced issue, Linksys will push as Singtel issue, and becomes no end, so Singtel decide for IPTV connect direct to their ONR now.

I just set up my Singtel TV and home broadband. While I’m glad the STB UI behaves much much better than my old SH fiber tv STB, the ONR + Askey mwah limitations are horrible.

I already got the ONR port 1 bridged to my own ASUS AX88U router and is working as expected. The issue is now is that I can’t get the SingTel TV Go app’s Home View function on my iPhone or iPad to work. The app always prompt me with this message “You need to connect to your home Singtel Fibre Broadband Wifi to use this function”. I’m 100% sure my iOS devices are connected to my home WiFi.

Is this problem result of me using my own router bridged with the ONR instead of using the standard setup of ONR connected to the Askey mesh?

Yes. I believe there is no way to go around this if you bridge the ONR. In that case, the bridge port has no VLAN and not possible to access SingTel TV functions.

I am appalled and disappointed with Singtel TV following the planned cessation of DIsney transmission on Oct 1st
1 for the cessation of SCM and Fox channels, Singtel proudly offered 'New' channels replacement which previously was from Starter packs, save 1 or 2 recently introduced channels which is from a different genre. An example is the 'New' channel Celestial movies (Ch585) and key sports events like table tennis and badminton replacing FOX sports, not the sports that was offered on FOX sports
2 for those specific movie pack which I paid for majority if not all the channels will be removed, example movies+ (6 channels to 2 channels) and Chinese movies+ (4 channels to nil), I will still have to pay for these. Although Singtel says they are getting new channels for these, the new channels may not be what I wanted and would not have paid for if given a choice
3 And to add insult to injury, Singtel plans to move Celestial channel (Ch585) to Chinese movies+; from a channel that is included, to a paying pack!! And I am reminded that prematurely terminating my subscription entails a penalty.
Come on, Singtel where is the fair use clause you often mentioned when it comes to unlimited data use. How can replacement channels offered so far be touted as of similar quality. How can Singtel continue to charge an essentially defunct pack by moving channels around so as to continue charging. No wonder people are switching to streaming services as these dont tie anyone to a contract which, in this case, should not be upheld given the unilateral drastic change from the initial contractual terms.

Come on Singtel, do the right thing. Uphold the spirit of fair use.

Hello….”Fair”…..pssssstttt…you buay song, after contract just leave…

Hey, I’m on your side BTW…unless ppl like us group together and gather enough “force” or “quantity”…SingTel is just going to do it their way or the Highway…

Utter rubbish from their end. Its also just show, they are at their wits end and empty with no fall back plan Liao…yet we have to suffer the agony of that contract.

Is this new Chinese Movies+ pack included in the Value/Ultimate packs or is it sold separately?

Been on Singtel for so many years and have seen the disgusting behavior of their marketing team.
I'm one of those who had the STB from day 1 they launched their fiber service till now and still remember paying premium.

Mid way, they simply did a bait and switch - cutting off channels, and removing channels off their starter packs - forcing people to "renew" the TV package separately - at a higher cost. If you don't renew, you'll be stuck with the "missing channels".

2-3 years back, my dad got suckered into taking the JingXuan pack over the phone. Price? Lower than what is being offered to subscribers now - and they have the cheek ask him to renew (exact same package) - of course at a higher cost (Singtel are you ok? Do you need medication?)

With the cessation of Fox movie channels which is sadly not under their control, Singtel could've bundled the HBO package as a replacement - which i was hoping - i don't mind renewing if they offered this!

But instead, chose to cheap out and offering a poor English channel replacement line up - "HITS Movie" ..... oh my god. Have you seen the EPG for asia - https://movies.hitstv.com/schedule.html#schedule_main

Worth it to continue? You decide.

Singtel has failed to move on in this aspect, still sticking to STB when the industry is moving on to OTT delivery.

The saving grace - soccer fanatics - which still feed their income.

Personally i'm terminating my SingtelTV subscription by October and returning 2 STBs i currently subscribe to and moving on.

Looking to terminate my fiber in the near future as routing / latency has gotten worse over time.

That's why i said - something is very wrong with their marketing team.

Its a really poor retention offer.

FTA? There's DVB-T2 STB if your TV can't receive or buy a cheap android box with MeWatch you get the same thing at no cost - who wants to pay $4.90/mth after 24 mths?

Started long time back - during the bait and switch period i was in during the early years when a 200Mbps line was premium.

Got worse when they split SingtelTV out as another separate product totally to this day - and cost has been going up ever since.

Since on contract - just stomach it, especially old folks who are resistant to change - i let it slide. With advancement and shifts in technology, enough is enough - this is the final straw.

Commercial SingtelTV is even more disgusting once you even know the cost.
