anyone having lousy bpl quality on 103 channels onwards (ie non-HD channels)??
any way to resolve the problem??

change hdmi cable? or did u guys set the aspect ratio to normal or using stretch ??

ch 103 to 110 is normal viewing, ch 102 is HD, it's better than nothing, usually i leave my set top box to 720p with stretch mode..so other channels will be in widescreen, i did tried using 1080i with stretch mode, but normal channels got those interlaced lines and abit sucky, try another HDMI cable again, if the result is the same.. there's nothing you can do..

Common problem, not enough bw. This one your fault never ensure enough bw before use

My MioTV having issues as well.

Free to air channel will hang after 5-7 secs and stuck there till u change to other channel then stuck again.

Funny thing is VOD (video on demand) channels are ok. Dunno WTF is wrong. Has been switching around the configuration but no success.

Current config is:
2Wire->Asus router -> Aztech powerline ->Aztech powerline -> MioTv box.

Previously connecting directly to 2wire ok. Now put back cannot liao.

Good thing is i dont really watch. Now in the process of early termination with Stinktel with no penalty. Looks like my broadband service and one mobileline with them will be terminated together as well.

My mio BB and Phone line is down since 17/3/11 and I am using my neighbours internet to surf this website(SingTel 2wire 5012NV with SINGTEL 0936 for my friend with fibre around tampines area)My mio HD channels when i on,It just freeze there without any movement.

call 1688 to ask for more info.. most likely you will have to pay $53.50 for a new remote, if you can come out with a story on what happened to your remote, they might be willing to waive the fee for you

no. u got to make another appointment again so that the technician will bring down the STB with DVR to swap with ur normal set. u can't do it urself because the technician need to call back singtel technical support to reset the OBI for the new STB with DVR to work

Does anyone know what the USB port at the back of the non-hdd STB is for? I've always been curious about this...

Can I put an external HDD to it?

I don't think thats the purpose.

If you see some implementation of other networking devices, typically chinese video players will be able to hook wireless n realtek usb adapter to make them connect-able more easily(except its not practical). Also, 1 USB port by itself in original implementation do NOT provide enough current to power a 2.5" hdd at all.

And for those expensive biz grade firewall/routers, the usb port allows config/firmware to be uploaded to the device as an alternate means.

So there you have it. The "unused" USB.
