mio tv singtel charge a fee for the setup box per mth or free one?

Subscribers who are on no rental settop box package continue with no rental. But once they change contents, they start paying $4.90/month rental immediately.

I don't know what happen when contract due - still no rental or must pay. I wait for August and decide to continue or stop. If must pay, I will stop.

My logic...

When you take a taxi, you do not pay taxi rental.
When you take bus, you do not pay bus rental.
When you take MRT, you do not pay train rental.
When you watch a movie, you do not pay cinema rental.
When you eat your meals out, you do not pay utencils/crockery rental.
When you enter a building, you do not pay security guard rental.
When you do banking transaction, you do not pay bank or ATM rental.
etc.

... because you already pay for what you need to pay. No more no less.

Nope. if the 2Wire fry...go buy from someone else second hand or else.. call 1688 and get it replaced unless yr contract over and UR kinda ...kena...

ASUS N60 could work over FIBER but it's a hit and miss...and since over fiber it's free 5520 RG anyway.. why bother....

I have some 2wire avail if you need to get a replacement.... PM me for details

Depend on your package... you may have to pay $1.90 a mth for the set-top warranty ...or 'licensing' ....thus why MioTV has no TV1.... mostly..you pay!

mioTV set-top box is always under warranty by SingTel. Don't have to pay for warranty. If spoil they will replace it free.

What 'licensing' are you referring to?

TV1, do you mean Malaysia's channel 3? Nothing to watch.

Pay for contents? Sure must pay. If no need to pay, then quality of contents will be like MediaCorp and RTM free-to-air channels! Any good?

Just upgraded my package from to Sports + Combo (Sports+, Family+, Jingxuan) @ $31.90/mth. First 2 months free. Previously i have Sports (non-plus) and Jingxuan for $29.90, so i thought it was a good deal. List price is $54.90.

Here is the listing from SingTel MyAccount:

12 mths Jingxuan Gold - BTV
12 mths Jingxuan Gold - SVOD
Family+ - BTV (for mio Home/exPlore Home)
Family+ - SVOD (mio Home/exPlore Home)
HD Set-Top Box Rental

Also upgraded my 50Mbps to 100Mbps ($64.90 -> $69.90).

I think got snook by ST already. This was offered to me like about 2 months ago in a shopping mall.

Fristly, SingTel Fibre 150 Mbps + homeline is 49.90? No?

So $69.90? Is this the Fibre 100 Mbps + mioTV + homeline 24 month contract? And this already included the Family+ and JingXuan?
Which means they give you a $20 discount (like I was mislead to believe) for the $54.90 because this was already included in the $69.90 plan. Well actually because they cannot charge you for Family+ and JingXuan twice.

Then you give you 10% off for additional content - Sports+ and hammer you the set-top box rental at $1.90 (because of the package, otherwise $4.90)?

So actually, you still paying $54.90 + $1.90 for the mioTV part (for 24 months vs 12 months). It is not special. And you lose out the $150 Mbps and get only $100 Mbps.

The ST content bundle packages are very confusing. Have to put them on spreadsheet and the real picture will show.

Pay for contents? Sure must pay.
Pay for rental of set-box HD which ONLY supports poor picture quality ???What's???
[up to HD ready;
most-program is upscale from DVD or lower resolution like older TV format;
720p with a lot of compresssion;
1080i is just a upscale conversion ONLY;

Futhermore, no true high resolution video quality (1080p) like the blu-ray: i.e. crystal clear high-definition content {incorporates a full HD 60fps (frame per second) video hardware codec engine for 1920x1080p video recording and play-back, and 12.8GB/s memory bandwidth interface that enables Full HD Wifi display and also superior viewing experience in terms of picture quality (sharpness, color[Red/Green/Blue], contrast, tint, hue, brightness, resolution)...extra smooth/no lag/no distortion/etc, sound quality, speed and navigation.]

Mio tv is charging set-top HD box for $4.90 wef 1 June 2013.:(
SingTel mio TV
For customers who are out of contract to their mio TV and/or BroadBand Bundle services and are not currently paying for set-top box rental, a nominal $4.90 monthly charge will be implemented for your first HD set-top box from 1 June 2013. The charges for any additional HD set-top boxes or DVR set-top boxes under your account will also be adjusted accordingly.

For out of contract BroadBand bundle customers, we encourage that you recontract to enjoy a special rate of $1.90/mth (U.P. $4.90/mth) on your first HD set-top box.

For existing customers who are still within the contract but are not on our new content packs, there is no change to the set-top box charges. Once you have reached the end of your contracts, we will notify you in advance of the set-top box charges.

mioTV set-top HD box is always under warranty by SingTel. Don't have to pay for warranty. If spoil they will replace it free.
