Mine is rather okay, mio volume = 25, TV volume = 13/14 .

Set top box: grey Motorola mioTV Stb(non DVR),HDMI connection to LG TV(2013). :)

This has been discussed in this forum recently. Especially TVs with HDMI (even some those that do not) can have their volume adjusted for different source input. Go into your TV setting to do this.

For those input source (whatever they may be, Xbox, PS3, PS4, Media Player, mioTV, etc.) that may have lower volume input, set to the max on the source machine. Then in the TV, set accordingly to match the other sources. For those input source that have higher volume input, set those lower on the TV to match.

Then when you switch source on your TV, the volume-out from the TV will remain constant.

What cannot be change is with StarHub TV where the advertisement volume is so much louder than the program volume.

How do u lay cables in false ceiling when your false ceiling is already up?

I dont think they will knock anything. Usually external trunking...

By right they should lay it through an external trunking. But i paid them some coffee $$$ to have them lay it through my false ceiling.

Unless i am missing something, your package looks like the standard promo that they offer to everyone. Do you even need to call in and ask for it?

I spoke almost an hr over the phone with the cso after receiving the price adjustment letter. Referred my case to customer retention dept in view of my numerous complaints for the past 1 year, and highlighted that their recontract promo has hardly any difference from new subscribers.. Will see what they get back to me..

So far, all my complaints have favorable outcomes.

The last time i threatened to cancel, they offered 2 months free. But don't quote me, see what they can offer you. Normally if you are out of contract, they are more willing to negotiate.

They gave me the 2 months free, no contract needed. Inaddition, they also give me $5 monthly rebate for the phone line. I called in to cancel. The retention dept asked what i wasn't happy with and i brought up an age old issue with their technician damaging one of my cables during installation. I believe they saw it as some kind of compensation and also to retain a customer regardless of whether you recontract or not.

I am not sure if your 3 months free involves a new contract. For my case i will be silly not to accept it.

I'm not too sure the 3 mths free subscription requires a contract or not.

My complain is the how the set-top box will hang after i change channels 4 or 5 times. and when i restart, requires 3-5mins to wait. even if they offer 3 mths free, i will cancel it when its up. And when i change channels, especially HD channels, the new channel that I changed to will hang for stutter for 1 mins, if i'm lucky. I usually need to restart the set top box and modem.

And Miotv requires the telephone line which costs like $30 for 3 mths even when i do not need to use the phone.

My frustration with MioTV is endless. The lists of frustrations with MioTV is endless. I'm paying a total of about $85 per month. $69.90 for the Jingxuan Gold subscription, $4.90 for set top box rental and $10 per month for the fixed telephone line.

For $85 per month, the service level is totally unacceptable for me.

well, i think so too. but singtel wont let MioTV only subscribers use fibre for MioTV.

is urs an old estate??

sometimes the telephone line quality could have deteriorated over time....

imagine, this telephone line is like more than 20 years ago??

can have noise, etc. which affects the signal... but internet shld b more sensitive to poor quality phone line.

i just find it amazing how this old old phone line technology can be used to deliver live HD TV images... and also on demand video....
